Hello senior members! To clarify, are language tests required for every applicant, and should each applicant create a separate account when applying? My husband and I are both applying. My husband accepted the invite and created an account but I can't see his profile on my account.

I'm not sure how this works.

• Applications will be submitted along with your application, as a group.
• We'll process all the applications at the same time.

You can use PR language test results for citizenship. Each applicant does require language test.

Soon I will apply for citizenship. When I applied for refugee, IRCC seized my original passport in 2019 September, and they still have it. I have only RTD. In the application do I need to provide the old passport details? I have certified true photocopies, which they gave me. Also the seized passport expired long time ago. Thanks for the help.

If the passport validity falls within the 5 years eligibility period, yes provide the information.

Hi friends. I'll become eligible to apply for citizenship in a few days. Planning to submit the application and soon after have vacation plans outside the country. I'll be outside Canada for around 3-4 weeks. Based on recent timelines of others here, it looks like the time I'm out of Canada could be when I may get the invitation to give the test. I intend to give the test online .. are we allowed to give the citizenship test from anywhere in the world or do we have to be physically present in Canada at that time?

Silly question, but if I have been at my current job for longer then 5 years should I enter the start date or 5 years before the application date. Also if I lived at a place for more then 5 years should I enter the date I moved in or 5 years before the application date. Appreciate any advice

Hello everyone. I am glad that i reached at a stage of applying for Canadian Citizenship. It was a long journey from 2017 when i had big doubts about my study permit and friends from here (Canada Visa forum) has always helped me and supported / guided on every question that I had. I am asking for help once again for my citizenship application now. I will be grateful if someone can help me on the below queries. These queries might have been answered before but please be kind enough to answer for my case also. Thank you.

1) I am providing my work history 1st July 2019 (last 5 years from 1st July 2024 - The day I will apply for my application).

• May 2019 to 1st May 2020 – PGWP.
• Applied Closed work permit – 27th April 2020.
• Applied LMIA – 8th May 2020.
• Closed work permit refused on 20th Jan 2021. Stopped working from 21st Jan 2021. (There is a story for this , it will be an eye opener for all about the immigrations consultants , if any one is interested )
• Applied for Open WP (PGWP extension policy) on 30th Jan 2021.
• Received confirmation letter for work eligibility on 4th Feb 2021.
• Received Physical copy of work permit – 22nd Feb 2021.

1) Question is, do I need to mention the gap between 21st Jan to 3rd Feb 2021, as I did not have any status and was not working?

2) I do noy have a family / surname in Passport. When I received the ECOPR, I clarified with the officer about it, and he added my full given name in the family name and my given name is blank. Now What do I put in my Family name / given name (Same as my ECOPR Copy ??)

3) After getting PR on 22nd April 2022, I got fever of improving my skills / knowledge and took admission in the college for full time studies (Sep 2022 Intake) but was also working full time with it. Anyhow, the fever subsided, and I left the studies in between and continued with my full-time job. DO I have to mention about this studies which I believe I only did for 3 weeks?

Kindly help because I don't want to go the Immigration Consultant again .. Pleasse .

1) Yes. Employment and Address history needs to be continuous. You can say Unemployed and attach a letter of explanation with your application(Explaining the situation as above)
2) What does it say on your PR card? Like for me first line is surname(family name) and second line is given name.
3) You need to mention that but I am not sure how the form will behave(Accepting work+studies for same period)

Hi Everyone. I was looking for some clarity around this eligibility criteria that one needs to satisfy the 3 out of 5 years of physical presence in Canada.

Suppose my PR period was from May 2019 to May 2024 but for the first 2.5 years I was not physically present in Canada. I was physically present for the next 2.5 years. So I've exhausted the 5 years of my PR period and haven't satisfied the 3 out of 5 year period? Now I renew my PR which gives me another 5 years from say June 2024 to June 2029. If I complete the remaining 0.5 years in this "new" 5 year period (from June 2024 - June 2029) thus completing the 1095 days of physical presence, does it mean that I don't qualify because I should've completed the three years in my 5 year period from May 2019 to May 2024? Thus I would have to complete the three years in the 5 year period from June 2024 - June 2029 since I "missed the boat"?

This 3/5 years is a bit confusing. To simplify, why not just say 3 years (can be any three years) while one is a PR or in status? Thanks for your help.

To be eligible for Canadian citizenship, you must have been physically present in Canada for at least 1,095 days in the five years immediately before the date of your application.

Nowhere it says PR or anything. It can be your days on Work permit etc.

The application is short and kinda straightforward, there aren't many documents required.
Typically, you'll need a proof of language, so pass a language test now if you don't already have one, and check the police certificate requirements, although I'm not sure if you can use one you got 9 months before the application.
Apart from that, if you filed your taxes every year you were in Canada and kept a logbook of your entries and exists from the country, you're already as ready as can be.
