Under sponsorship it says application received, under PR application it says in process. That's why I ended up calling because I haven't received any emails/letters from CIC and neither has my mum.

I called CIC this morning. I was approved as sponsor on June 16 and the file was transferred to the Pretoria LVO. I haven't received anything from CIC but the agent said I should receive the approval letter in the mail by July 16 otherwise I should call back then.

Actually, you only need to do one application for both parents. Your dad can apply as the primary applicant and your mum will be added as a dependent. My parents applied that way and were approved.

It seems like the first letter just states that the application was accepted in the 2016 cap (based on the one I received), while the second email is the actual AOR acknowledging that the application was received (based on what dbss posted). Interesting.
