Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Hi forum members. I have some good news to share! My family got PPR today from Pretoria LVO. MyCIC still says background check is "in process" and ECas just says "medical results have been received". I applied for mum, dad, and younger brother. They submitted medicals and additional documents on...

    Sponsoring my Mom in 2017

Yes, I'm aware that there were shipping delays. That's why I said that they can send the complete package a week in advance to a local courier who will deliver it on the day. I'm part of the 2016 batch and that's what I did. There's no need to travel to Toronto, just arrange in advance with the...

    Sponsoring my Mom in 2017

He/she doesn't have to go to Toronto. I sent my completed package from Victoria, BC to a local courier in Toronto (Metro Mississauga Courier) a week in advance. He delivered it first thing on the day they opened the program. It's much cheaper than flying to Toronto.

    Parent sponsorship

That's true. They have increased the budget for PGP applications and apparently streamlined the process to make it faster, but we'll just have to wait and see.

    Parent sponsorship

It is what it is. Seems like CIC is streamlining the PGP process. I'm a 2016 applicant and I got sponsorship approval in June and my parents got the medical/PCC request in July.

    Parent sponsorship

There are quite a few people from the 2014 batch that got PR. Here's the thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/when-your-parent-sponsorship-2014-application-reached-cpcm-update-here-t179188.2010.html Also check the spreadsheet...

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

My mum's BP was just on the threshold 150/90 so she just passed. My dad's BP was normal due to the BP medication he takes, but because he's had hypertension for 10 years now, he still had to do the additional tests to make sure there was no organ damage.

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

For those of you worried about parents with high blood pressure or diabetes, my parents just passed their medical exam. My dad has type 2 diabetes and hypertension. He had to do additional tests for his medical exam including an ECG, echocardiogram, fundoscopy, and additional diabetes testing...

    parents sponsership joine here

You will have to wait to sponsor your parents in 2018. CIC only accepts Option C/NOA for the financial check and if you don't have the minimum for any one of the 3 years, you don't qualify.

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

The Pretoria VO asked my parents to submit original PCCs. So does that mean they can't send a scanned copy of the original, but have to mail the original hard copy?

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Hi there. My dad also has high blood pressure and diabetes. He's undergoing additional tests for his medical exam. It all depends on whether the officer thinks that required treatment for the condition will cause excessive demand on the public health system. So long as she doesn't have any...

No, it does not apply to PGP. Inland spouse sponsorship only.

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

That's for inland spouse sponsorship applications only. PGP applications don't receive approval in principle.

    Sponsoring Parents in 2015

They can do their medical exam anywhere in the world, so it's fine if they do it in Canada or the US. For SA police clearance, try contacting doc assist: http://www.docassist.co.za/police-clearances/

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Have you called to find out? Maybe you were approved and just didn't receive any communications from them. I was approved in mid June but only got the letter via mail in mid July.

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

No, my ECas is showing "application received" for everything. At some point the PR application was showing "in process", but it went back to "application received".

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

You should try calling first thing at 8am,; that's how I got through. The agent I spoke to didn't ask for the file number, just my UCI, and he was able to tell me that I had been approved as sponsor. I only received the actual sponsorship letter in the mail two weeks later.
