Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Nothing to discuss really for the next two years or so. We just have to sit tight. Maybe we'll hear news of the cap being increased to 10k or plans to decrease processing times, but it seems the government is busy with refugees for the moment. Sigh...

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Yes, I used my information. I was also sponsored by my spouse last year but landed in May 2015, so I no longer had access to ECas by the time I applied to sponsor my parents. I can also log in using my mum's UCI and her information or the file number. So try to log in with your parents' information.

    2016 - PARENTS & GRANDPARENTS SPONSORSHIP APPLICANTS

The ones who used Purolator and got charged had used same day delivery service which is contracted out to local couriers, so that's how they managed to make the cap. Your application should be fine though, CIC will just keep it for processing as part of the 10k when the cap increase is approved.

    2016 - PARENTS & GRANDPARENTS SPONSORSHIP APPLICANTS

If your card hasn't been charged yet then I don't think you made the 5,000 cap. On the 2016 spreadsheet the last credit card charge was on Jan 28, and many application have already received first AOR and/or have access to E-Cas. You may still be in luck for when the cap is raised to 10,000. You...

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

That's not good. I hadn't really thought about the process that would be required to increase the cap. I honestly thought it would happen within a few weeks as a policy change. But like you, I assume the change should be made before end of the year if they plan on reopening the PGP next Jan. I...

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

I would suggest that you report it and send an updated financial evaluation form with the additional family member and new LICO requirement.

That's the understanding I got from the application guide and the financial evaluation form. Did you interpret it differently?

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

You have to meet the minimum LICO for 2013, 2014 and 2015 for a family of 7 regardless of the fact that you only had one child in 2013. So, unfortunately it seems like you will only be able to sponsor them in 2018.

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

I received AOR email with FN a few moments ago. I still don't have access to Ecas though. Sent my application through Metro Mississauga. Will update my info on the spreadsheet.

WHEN YOUR PARENT SPONSORSHIP 2014 APPLICATION REACHED CPC-M? UPDATE HERE...

This is not true by the way. You can sponsor your parents if you were sponsored as a spouse without having to wait 5 years. The sponsorship ban only applies to sponsoring spouses and not other members of the family class. Check the IMM1344 form under "Sponsorship Eligibility Assessment" Question...

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

I would suggest a local courier (Happy Road, VW, MMCourier, Current Express). I think next time around, most people will go for local couriers based on this year's outcomes, and larger companies won't stand a chance. Unless CIC changes the process by then. Sorry that purolator delayed your...

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

I tried to login with my mum's UCI (principle applicant) but I couldn't. I was only charged on Jan 12 though. Will try again next week. I provided the UCIs for my mum, dad and brother in the application.

Unfortunately, I doubt there is a way to contact any officers. If the credit card information is wrong, your app will be returned. Sorry.

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

The people in the spreadsheet from BC and QC all used local ON couriers. So ON still has the advantage. Well actually, people who use local couriers have the advantage rather.

Best and worst courier services - Jan 4, 2016 Parents/grand parents sponsor

I agree. It seems only local couriers and one Purolator guy delivered before 9am. The UPS time stamps are definitely wrong.
