This is very common, my wife and I were outside of Canada for 8 years when we applied. Its called an outland application, you need to check out CIC website and start reading! Here's the link.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but you could submit the application now and then once they process your SA and your wifes part of the application is forwarded to the relevant office for processing you could send the updated passport details to this office once you have them.
However, might...
Emails, pictures, facebook posts, skype chats, text messages, joint bank account, mortgage, lease, plane tickets, hotel reservations, utility bills etc etc. Showing these over the time span of your relationship.
1. I would certainly show emails to agents as this shows more 'intent' showing a google search isn't really going to help much.
2. Any correspondence with schools/nurseries would be helpful .
A couple of things I forgot to add. Obviously you will need to ship your belongings over to Canada -...
You can do but I would be careful about disclosing this to the CBSA agent that you deal with. There has been an incident where a CBSA refused entry to somone holding a COPR because they were not ready to move to Canada permanently. I have friend who did this and were still in the process of...
A few suggestions as we had the same problems with showing intent:
1. Where are you going to live when you come to Canada? Have you made enquiries with real estate, friends, family who can support you?
2. Nursery/childcare/schools - even if you don't need it you could send emails enquiring...
They may or may not ask for another medical, it depends where you are residing but if you are from what they class as a 'low risk country' in terms of transmittable diseases they usually will grant an extension to your medical but its at the discretion of the officer processing your case. Given...
We just went through this exact process a couple of months ago with the Ottawa office. This turned into a very stressful couple of months for us as we were very worried we were going to be denied and ended up getting an MP involved. The best advice I could give would be write a detailed...
Ah I missed that bit about the expiry of the visa. Good advice from Ponga regarding options open to you in terms of inland/outland.
I would certainly explain your relationship as much as possible providing plenty of proof to back up your story, just put yourself in the position of the visa...
This happened to us as well when we submitted last year. Luckily we had no problems. They will sometimes return a whole package but generally I think this is only done if the form is out of date by a considerable amount or there are other glaring issues, even then they often just email...
Its quite standard now, we are living in Scotland and they sent our application to Ottawa. You can either join the Ottawa or London threads for an idea of timescales and if you need any help through the process. Unfortunately you're joining the waiting game now!
You seem to have your head round the process so thats a good first step!
Make sure you provide plenty of evidence for your relationship as its relatively short in duration and you have previously been refused a visa so look at it from the perspective of an officer who is presented with your...
I was refused an extension to my work visa in 2005 and was given until day x to leave Canada. I never mentioned it in my application due to my reading of the question in point. I had no issues with this in my appication.
Actually depending on where you land you can receive your SIN straight away. For example at Pearson airport in Toronto once they have processed your COPR they will direct you to another kiosk where you can get your SIN. Obviously depends what time you land at as its not 24hrs.
Given your posts I am presuming you are being processed in Ottawa. Sounds like you have received SA and it has been sent to Ottawa for processing of the applicants stage. Processing times are currently 8-10 months (including SA) for Ottawa so you're only just over 3 months into the process. You...
