Documents for intent to live in Canada?

Hi guys, need assistance from you...

Document Checklist - Sponsor on page 2, # 20, it says..

If you are a Canadian citizen living exclusively outside Canada, you must include proof that you intend to live in
Canada with your spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner and/or dependent children once the become
permanent residents of Canada. See Who can sponsor? in your guide for additional information.


Guide - 3900 page # 7
If you are a Canadian citizen, you may sponsor a spouse, a common-law partner or conjugal
partner, or a dependent child who has no children of his or her own. However, you must
demonstrate that you will live in Canada when the sponsored person becomes a permanent
resident.


I don't find any information regarding what documents to provide to the CIC. My situation is as under:

Citizen since 2008, Married in 2011, my wife gave birth to our Son in December 2012, Son is a Citizen.. we got proof of citizenship Certificate and His Limited passport..

I have running bank account in Canada, have line-of-Credit, Credit Cards.. but I don't have any address because I was living in sharing accommodations.. I am Disable since 2005, got ODSP approved in 2007.. I don't have much friends, at least I have no one who can give me a letter that I will be coming back living in Canada once I get my wife's visa, and my wife is not allowing me to leave without hers.. she just can't. Now you guys tell me what documents should I submit with my application for "intend to live in Canada once my wife become permanent resident"

I left Canada in 2010, because of my mother was seriously sick and she died in 2011 due to Cancer, my father died in 2013.

Note: I am to pay my fees from my credit card by easy-web.. ( I have TD bank account).

maybe a letter might help (tell your and your wife plan in Canada after her PR)
and receipt or letter from your bank to show your regular payment etc.
if you have any proof for your job search in Canada (ex:a letter from company that receive your resume etc)

even if you send all supporting docs to show your plan in Canada after PR, CIC/VO might request more supporting docs regarding to that matter.

I was requested to send more supporting docs later my file was transferred to Manila.

Thanks for your reply, but I am on ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program) since December 2007 (I am disable since mid of 2005) so I have no intention whatsoever for job, I just can't do it.

your story is same like my story but the difference is you sponsoring your wife and my wife sponsoring me.. we both live together in uae and with the application we wrote two letter from our side which stated that she will support me at initial stage once i got PR visa and we will move immediately once i got visa. she is enough saving in bank account which will be help full for us in beginning and together this we will search jobs too..and we mentioned mother in law address where we will stay after landed in Canada.

Is there something with ODSP that might show you are moving back? For example, do you have to apply to get more money since you will be moving back? Or anything that shows the ODSP office is aware of your plans?

last year in June 2014, I had meeting with ODSP, they told me, once I bring my family in Canada, I should immediately repot them. For this conversation I have no written documents.. But I know once I bring my family in Canada they will raise money. But again I have no written documents.. though it is understood.. Currently I am not in Canada, otherwise I would have asked for a letter from ODSP. I have called for my renewal of credit card.. to pay my sponsorship fees through TD bank. I am running my bank account online. I paid my all taxes till 2013.. I have Option C for 2013 and Notice of Assessments till 2013.

A few suggestions as we had the same problems with showing intent:

1. Where are you going to live when you come to Canada? Have you made enquiries with real estate, friends, family who can support you?
2. Nursery/childcare/schools - even if you don't need it you could send emails enquiring about costs etc. Our daughter just turned 18 months but we made enquiries with local school purely to show we were making an effort.
4. Can your wife apply for jobs before you leave or does she require to get any qualifications recognized?
5. Do you have friends/family that can write you letters stating your intent to move back?
6. Can you email ODSP and ask them for confirmation of what you do when you come back - again this shows an intent as otherwise you don't have any physical proof.

Toronto, and most probably in Thorncliffe, East York. I know this area since 2004, lived there since since 2005. But I used to search either kijiji or craigslist or search by google will results in hundreds.. I can take my family with no problems that's for sure.. Toronto is my City.. its like my birth city. Its not a big issue. but again what documents to show? do u mean by google search to show them? or I need to make a conversant with a real state.. ?

well that's I can do that.. you mean just enquiring the admission process through emails will be accepted? even though my son is not the age of school going right now.. he is 29/30 months old?

seems 3rd number is missed..

she wont.. as she a traditional East Asian house wife. and I want hers to look after me and my son, I do need someone to look after me..(my being disable, its really difficult to live by-myself, I always need someone to do things for me, since my disability.(from mid 2005). Also she doesn't know English. She is a Pure housewife. and she has no intention to work.

No.. I have no friends.. or at least they wont write a letter.. I had friends but its way back in 200-2005, since then I had no contact whatsoever, my be because my being disable..(ah.. its life..it happens..)


6. Can you email ODSP and ask them for confirmation of what you do when you come back - again this shows an intent as otherwise you don't have any physical proof.

ODSP don't reply on emails.. they don't even give any email id for contact.. they only contact with us on either Phone or TTY or Fax.. mine case.. either phone or fax.. that's what they prefer... no email

I do have a lot of letters from ODSP, which I have added in my application.. but not recent one.. the last one was while I was in Toronto, June 2014. Had meeting with ODSP, I have added that letter as well.. and in the past letters too.. just to show the CIC my registration with ODSP since 2005.

1. I would certainly show emails to agents as this shows more 'intent' showing a google search isn't really going to help much.

2. Any correspondence with schools/nurseries would be helpful .

A couple of things I forgot to add. Obviously you will need to ship your belongings over to Canada - have you got quotes from removal companies, again this could be helpful. You could also write a detailed explanation of your circumstances so that the officer dealing with your case has a detailed explanation of your predicament and circumstances. Your family will also need health insurance for three months until you can get OHIP so again you can get quotes for this.

If you are asked for additional proof you could always contact the MP for the area your looking to reside in. Some are more helpful than others espcially as you are not currently residing in Canada but we got my in laws MP involved and they wrote us a letter of support.

I did the queries from school board... sent one eamail and got one email in response.. n that's enough to understand the process for admission..

I can do enquires for appartments and their rents from realtors, did in the past but cleaned those emails, not a big deal though to have another round of it...

but I have nothing to ship .. so I don't have such documentations..
