can anyone please help me which page i must print and apply for the visitor visa .....please

@Nabaaf and me447,

My wife applied to VFS office located in Mumbai, India. She applied I think last week of August and got the visa during 1st week of September. So, basically she got the visa within a week.

@ everyone,

You don't need to wait till SA comes. That is no mandatory document for TRV. AOR1 confirmation email is good enough. You can mention file number and client ID from AOR1 in your TRV application very clearly. My wife submitted her application with AOR1 confirmation. No SA. She got it within a week.

Cheers,
Vinod

@ vnarayan
Have a doubt, after getting the visitor visa if I resign from my current organisation , will that affect my ongoing PR process ??? Coz in the PR application we have mentioned about the current job so if they call over at my workplace for the background check and by that time if I hav resigned and waiting the PR period in Canada then will it cause any issue ...what have u guys thought about it since even ull seem to have been following the same process, pls advice ....
Anyone else who's been in the same situation pls suggest..

@ shwemir,

I think you are thinking too much. It does not matter. They are not going to ask anything but even if the "worst case " scenario happens which is very highly unlikely you always have the answer that you applied for visitor visa and that you wanted to visit your husband while your PR is in process. They cannot say anything after that. Don't worry too much. Relax. Just prepare all your documents, if you have the plan of staying till you get the PR over here then I think you can resign the job or take sabbatical or whatever is the best option. In my case, my wife has resigned her job and she is going to come here soon. Our plan is to wait here till PR comes. So, if you think you are also in the same situation I would advise you also to do the same.

Cheers,
Vinod

@Hasan999,

Well, I think you should resign your job only after you get the visitor visa. You should at least wait for the result before submitting the resignation. It does not make sense to resign the job before you know the result.

Another thing is that the visa office does not have time to investigate so much on one case that they will call your work place and verify. They have so many files to process every day every hour. It is very simple for them. If they have doubts, they are gonna reject your visa, if they seem to be convinced they will give you the visa.

@ cali,

Well if you apply for open work permit for your husband and visitor visa for your child then they might most likely reject visitor visa for child because they would know that they are permanently going to come here. In order to get visitor visa, you have to show their very strong ties back home then only they will get visitor visa. So, if your husband is working full time and your child has his/her ongoing school education and submit all the documents as per the checklist mentioned in this forum then they should get visitor visa most likely.

Actually, another option is to include their names on the PR application as you have just filed for your PR. Did you explore this option? If this option does not work, then I guess you have to try for visitor visa for them. After that, once you get the PR then the option for you is to sponsor them outland or inland.

All the best!

Cheers,
Vinod

@Nabaaf,

Well there is no given rule or compulsion that you have to submit the proposed plan 1 month before the application. Although 10-12 days seem to be relatively short time. After you submit the application, it takes around 7-10 days on an average to get the visitor visa. You can submit the proposed plan 20 days before you submit the application just to keep a buffer. Usually people apply 20 days to 1 month before they travel. You may also get the visa within 5 days also it just depends sometimes. In my case, my wife applied i think 18-20 days before the travel.
