@ badboyz,

Congratulations! My wife is going to come next month. Quick question for you: Did you book a confirmed return ticket or a fake/dummy/refundable ticket? I was little bit hesitant to buy a confirmed return ticket instead of fake/refundable ticket because my wife is going to wait for PR while she is here. Let me know. I would appreciate if you can share your views.

@ Shwemir,

Don't worry about that. My wife is coming next month and she just resigned her job. Our plan is also the same. Wait here till PR comes. At the immigration or port of entry they are only going to ask where are you going? Where you will be staying and when are you going to go back? They may ask your return ticket for proof of returning journey. Don't complicate. relax. You should be fine.

@dnayyar and others,

I have sent you guys my format of cover letter which my wife composed and my letter of invitation to her. The contact information of travel agent is with my wife. I will ask and let you guys know and then it is up to you guys whether to use him or not.

Cheers,
Vinod

Hey guys,

Following this thread, I also applied for tourist visa of my wife with her immigration application is in progress and we got 1 year multiple entry.

My wife is a housewife and still she got it. I would recommend everyone here to give it a shot. Apparently, it is a pretty quick process too. We got ours in 4 business days.

Anyone in this forum, who is already in Canada as a Visitor, can you please tell me if there are any documents required at the point of entry? besides return ticket of course.

Thanks.

Hey @badboyz, Any chance you can share how you proved family ties to back home for your wife??

Thank you very much for this post. This has been very helpful

We applied for a TRV based on this thread and got a 1 year multiple entry visa. :D :D :D

Along with the application, here is a list of all the supporting information we submitted:

1. Cover Letter explaining our intent.
2. Letter from employer granting leave.
3. Income tax returns for past two years for both the principal applicant and the sponsor.
4. Evidence of financial standing for both the principal applicant and the sponsor - pay stubs, bank statements, savings certificates, etc.
5. Tentative flight itinerary.
6. Proof of completion of upfront medical exam (same from the sponsorship application).
7. Police Certificates and Clearances (same from the sponsorship applications).
8. Notarized letter of invitation and sponsorship (declaring full financial support) from sponsor in Canada.
9. Copy of Marriage Certificate to prove relationship to the inviter.
10. Copy of the Sponsorship Approval Letter from our immigration application.

I would encourage everyone to apply for a TRV. Its completely possible to get one. Just make sure you provide enough proof that you will leave canada at the end of your trip and that you have enough financial standing to support your trip(s).

Cheers.

I waited till i got SA. I clearly stated that i have applied for PR and quoted my UCI number in the invitation letter.
