Next time I'll visit. There is a very nice Cathedral there. It's hard when you don't know the language. I wanted to move in Germany and I studied German language for three years. My German it's not perfect, however I could understand the basic needs. I've been in Hamburg, Halle, Dresden, Numberg, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich and the most of the time I was in Hanover. I visited BMW museum, BMW plant tour and Mercedes museum. They are amazing.

so you received your Passport?? if yes then Congratulations!!! where are you nowadays?

Sponsor, they would NOT ask for fingerprints from me, would they?! I lived there for more than one year but at the age of 10-11 .... Or now will they want fingerprints from Mom?! :o may I ask why did you send ink fingerprints? I guess you had no other choice ::)

I'm not sure will they ask for fingerprints for you. Be quite if they ask you'll send them. Vienna sent me a RCMP for ink fingerprints. We read somewhere that we could digitize ink fingerprints, but we were not sure. My husband contacted the MP and he told him that we couldn't digitize. At that time on RCMP website said that we couldn't digitize. Now they have changed on their website but I'm not sure what is the procedure.

hi, first of all, you don't need to wait for your police record clearance to arrive and then send the package, you can send the police record clearance after you've sent you're documents because the first stage takes about a month during which they check your husband's eligibility for sponsorship and they don't need your police certificate.

Secondly, about your previous post that you sounded really worried, I guess I know why now. You're a Romanian :) My husband is also Romanian who grow up in Canada and we'd been living with his mother for a year and a half and now I live with her alone but we have Romanian friend around us and I know how dear sweet Romanians worry. Just don't worry and send you're documents asap. This forum is going to help you along the way with technical information as well as moral support. Trust me you'll feel right at home because everyone here is supper supportive and nice :)

Hi Avissa and everyone else. I'm really happy I found this forum, much better when you have someone to share your thoughts and worries with. Nobody understands how terrible this process is unless they've gone through it.

I see people are very nice and helpful :)
Regarding my police clearances, I prefer to wait for them, just 10 more days doesn't hurt. I wouldn't want them to send my application back. I've read horror stories from people here, I guess that's why I became a little paranoid.

@ Hungary, yes my husband is with me and we're looking forward to the move. But not to have a wedding, we had ours in 2009 and all our family was here too. It's just that we both lost interest in our life here, we lost interest in our jobs and for every decision that we have to make now, we need to consider that we won't be here for long. For example, we can't renew our gym membership, our phone contracts, we stopped buying things for around the house. Our microwave just broke, so instead of buying a brand new one, we got a second hand one. Because let's face it, we won't be able to bring anything with us to Canada.
We'll have to sell most of the stuff we own, and that's another thing that worries me.

@ Avissa, we live in Frankfurt, we're not too far from Cologne :) We actually spent our honeymoon in Cologne. I can understand your situation as well. My German is not so good either (I use English in my job and I don't get to speak German much because we don't have any German friends).
There is also: www.toytowngermany.com - here you can find English speaking people from your town. Lots of members on that forum get together to meet each other for coffee, they even have a book club!
May I ask where do you come from? Do you speak Romanian? :P

Unfortunately, I don't speak Romanian and since my in laws and our Romanian friends all speak Perfect English I never got to learn it :( And my mother in law has too much of a soft heart to but me through hardship of learning a new language. The best I could do is to convince her to teach her future grand child Romanian. As for me, I'm from Iran and loving every bit of being a part of a Romanian family ;)

Ooohh Gosh, it would be CRAZY to ask me for fingerprints... I was 10 :o i find it impossible, but my mom might be asked for... Okay i read the link, thanks for it, but as I can see all I can do is to get the ink one done on a police station and then is it possible for me to send it to Canada and my Husband would take it to fingerprinting service to digitize it? So it would cut the story short. ???

That's so nice :)
I wish you good luck and hope you can be with your husband soon.
I've noticed you filed your app in August, so if I send mine this month, our timelines will be very similar!

in deed it will be quite similar. Where in Canada are you going if you don't mind me asking?

Vancouver, B.C. I noticed, you have the British Columbia flag as your avatar, is that where you guys are too?

yeah it is. My hubby grew up in Vancouver and is currently living in Burnaby and working in Surrey. Maybe we can actually hang out when we get there.

Wouldn't that be awesome? We could definitely hand out! My hubby grew up in Vancouver as well, born in Alberta. I've never been to Canada before, it seems so far away from my family here. But if my husband wants to go back, I can't argue much, can I?

Hey you girls wait for meeee!!!!! :D i am going to Maple Ridge, I lived there already as a child went to school etc, but anyways may I join you?

Of course you can! We will be staying in Coquitlam with my mother-in-law till we can both get new jobs and move out, but somewhere in B.C. anyway.

I'm not sure, you should ask somewhere in Canada
