Ooohhhh right in my morning post I was asking Toronto ASAP to be sooo kind and please give us a name to call you, it would be more personal. Not a problem if its not your own name , if you would like to keep your identity in secret! I was thinking about this since we had that nice conversation before my PR interview in Vienna.

my one and only real name is Milica. At first when I joined this forum I thought about keeping my privacy but since you are the only ones I can talk to about this (and let my frustration in the open ) it seems appropriate to share it with you.

While reading about your pie I had to eat a huge chocolate

I just though of something,

in a few weeks we should be starting to get busy with christmas stuff. Usually time passes by really fast from mid November till mid January. So really... before we know it 3 months has passed. Just saying.

And the idea of reading is actually brilliant. I myself have started reading and at least it keeps my mind off of the immigration and loneliness for a while.

That's a nice and a positive thought, time does fly faster this time of year! I am keeping my mind of Vienna by taking my first cooking lessons from my mother/grandmothers

Eva, that's really hard, congratulations to both of you for resisting these challenges. I agree with you - asking from us all kinds of proof of a genuine relationship and then not allowing us to spend quality time together for this long just doesn't make sense to me! May I ask where in Canada do you live?

It's definitely your turn now to receive news from Vienna, keep your faith!

I am too soooo frustrated, we are waiting since last September!!! it has been over a year!.
I have 2 children from my previous marriage, and cannot just hop on a plane and go for a visit. My husband applied twice for a TRV before we got married, he also has a sister here, but they refused it both times. We managed to meet up in Cuba for a week this summer and I had to take the kids with me as I have no one to leave them with. That was 1 week we spent together in the entire year.
If they are going to keep us hanging here for this long, they should at least alow our spouses to come and visit. I don't think anyone wold jeopardize their process with staying in Canada and not returning home.
Am I the only one from last year still waiting?

nada sorry if I do not remember if I had asked you before, but why are you delaying so much. Have you had any issues with your husband's background check with military perhaps?

I just though of something,

I am just afraid that Chrismas is the reason everything will slow down again. They will be bombarded with TRV's and then they will take some time off and they will be short staffed again...grrrrrrrrrrrr...sorry but I am beyond frustrated at this point.

Yes, he was in miltary and I know that is the reason for delay, but nevertheless, it is frustrating. How long does it take to check someone out? They have all the computers and all the technology to access information from all over the world. It should be a click of the button. Sorry, I am just not in the best mood today, everything is getting to me...They will have to finalize this sooner or later. It's really hard living in this limbo, it's true what you said, we have all put our lives on hold.

I was asking myself the same question. When we pass border the guys on the border scan our passports and they know if we are someone of the bed guys. Also I can't understand checking digital fingerprints takes 72 hours and ink fingerprints 22 weeks. I lost almost 6 months in waiting for my ink fingerprint results.

They request fingerprints from those who have spent more than six months in Canada. I was in Canada 1 year and few months. I made digital in Canada and sent them with the all documents. My fingerprints expired so I needed to sent another one.

I know what you're going through. What they are doing is putting so much pressure on all of us. At least some are EU citizens and can freely go to Canada and visit their spouses but for example for me, I only have a German residence permit and I can not visit my hubby on top of that since April that he left for Canada because of all the stress and pressure I've got all my hormones messed up and I just started taking medication for them (a hand full of pills everyday)

Oooh Tom, I know how you feel, I feel the same or even worse.... I don't know and don't want to judge that but its not an easy thing to go through. 700 members just from Greece and only whom joined Fb group?, my God... Thats a LOT of immigrant for sure how much could it be from all around the world in a year? And how does if affect Canada's demography , I mean thousand and thousands of immigrants every year its not natural , is it? Obviously most of immigrants does not leave the country like we did with my mom and hopefully people over there are not dying so fast as immigrants enter the country so it seems like Canada could soon hang the FULL sign right to the borders... :
But seriously its really confusing anyways.
This morning I wrote a long post to all of you but all of a sudden it disappeared... So I got angry and went to play with the girls. And I made a biiiig apple pie today, it turned out really good and guess what, the girls never touched it, didn't even tasted... And now... Its almost 9 pm..... And the smell just makes me gooooo crazy Yuuummmyyy :

By the way I decided to make sure I take my mind off of immigration, because it just caused trouble in my relationship, being inpatient and frustrated plus apart.... Its just not working this way, so I am reading. Any time I have a moment, I am reading and I wont even stop till next fall.... Right now I am reading F.Scott Fitzgerald Beautiful and damned, I like it so far, not an easy one to understand though.

in order to dig in to that apple pie and not feeling guilty do the following. Sooooooooo.....Baptize the the apple pie and name it....Carrot. Carrots do not make you gain weight! So there you go. Eat it and don't feel bad.
Did you make it the American style pie...I love American style apple pie!

As for the Greek immigrant flow, it is justified in a way. Not all our 700 members are going to Canada. Half of this number are Canadian born Greeks who came back to Greece with their parents when they were babies. (Like my daughter Elena she was born in Canada and we came back to Greece when she was 4) another percentage of these people are hopeful migrants because of the terrible austerity crisis conditions we Greeks are going through in the past almost 3 years. To give you an example: The average monthly earnings for a non-qualified worker before 2008 was 1300 euros, Same worker today if he is still lucky enough to work (almost 28% unemployment and 50% among young people) gets roughly 550 per month. So many of these people in order to survive and not to maintain a life style are turning once again to immigration.
Greece was a country that gave a lot of immigrants to Canada the USA and many other countries from the late 19th century all the way up to the 1960's. Since the 1970's after democracy was reinstated there were hardly any Greeks migrating and not only that many of the diaspora were already returning home to a good life.
Life can be funny sometimes ain't it ?

i wish I could be like you Csilla. Read and forget, but i cant! Although i keep my self pretty busy with Leto, I cant get my mind over to wonder why Vienna is behaving like this. How is Julius? Is he keeping busy as well? why don't you ask him to take part in our little family here!

Don't worry, just relax, you can't do nothing. Don't think on documents they will come soon. Which part of Germany do you live? Germany is one of my favorite countries . I have been 4 times and visited a lot of places and I really love the country. This year we decided to go for October fest in Munich and we had a lot of fun. The cities are very beautiful. Next time I want to visit Bremenhaven. We worked on a project called Klimahaus and I want to see it in live.
