Hi,

I couriered Spouse sponsorship application on august 2nd
On August 5 th applied for temporary resident visa to see my spouse and i got visa.

Now the question is ...

For TRV they gave me one UCI number, once my spouse sponsorship application reaches to the visa office they will create one more UCI number right ??

do i need to inform my existing TRV UCI number to visa office where my sponsorship application is going to process ?? or Spouse sponsorship UCI number will not effect to visitor visa UCI ??

Hi im a 22 yr old male and im planning to marry my girlfriend back home in the Philippines. Im a Canadian PR already here in Canada and have a stable job. We have been together(as boyfriend&girlfriend) for more than a year(2014-2015) before i left the Philippines. And as i got here in Canada this 2015 we were planning to take our relationship to the next level after a year of saving up. The thing is i havent proposed yet therefore no engagement ring yet for the fiance application thing. What would be the best way we should do to be together here in Canada? Thankyou very much:) God bless

Canada has no fiance application class. In order to sponsor your girlfriend for permanent residency, you must either be married or common law. Common law means you have lived together for a minimum of one full year and can prove it.

Can you tell me the options that we have? A little insight and outline would help alot for our planning. Does this mean the only way is that i go back and marry her and only then we can start processing for marriage visa?

My mom went to Canada as a Tourist year 2005. I dont know what year her visa expired. She applied as Refugee but got denied on year 2008, but she still stayed in Canada though. She met someone on 2009 and eventually got married on 2011. She applied for Spousal Sponsorship but requested to go back here in the Philippines. She went home unescorted within the period given to her by the immigration. When I check her applcation in CIC.GA, it says that her application was received November 2013 along with our medical results. Days passed and the last request from her by the Manila Immigration was to pay for the Authorization to Return and Fill out the TRV (Temporary Resident Visa) sent July 16, 2015. We settled it immediately, however, until now we haven't received any news about our application yet.

Is there anyone experienced this? How long do we still need to wait for the decision? What step will be next? Is it the decision or will they ask for our passport next?

I hope someone can help or give advice.

Your options are to travel there to marry her - then return to Canada and sponsor her from here (this is the most likely option for you). Another option would be for her to come to Canada as a visitor, get married here and then you can sponsor her while she is in Canada. This second option requires her to obtain a TRV (tourist visa) which can be quite difficult to do (but you can by all means try). To increase her chances of having the TRV approved, she will need to prove that she has strong ties to her home country (e.g. job, property, assets) and has no plans to remain in Canada long term.

Theoretically she could also come to Canada on a study permit. However this is a very expensive option and she would need to have a minimum of $25K in her account just to qualify to apply. She would also once again have to prove strong ties to her home country.

A final option would be a work permit. This requires a full time job offer in Canada and the employer also has to obtain an approved LMIA. It is extremely difficult to find employers willing to go through this process due to the time it takes and the money it costs.

They should ask for your passports next. However it's really going to be impossible for any of us to comment on how long this is going to take due to your mother's complicated immigration history. Applications where ARCs are required always take several additional months to process. Also, I suspect CIC will examine your mother's application quite closely due to the overstay and failed refugee claim to make sure the relationship is genuine and she is not just using this person as a means of returning to Canada. There's certainly a chance your mother may be asked to attend an interview. If this happens, this will push out the processing time of her application further. Again, it's really impossibly to say give your mother's immigration history.

Hi All,

Been reading your posts and it's very helpful. It's been calling my attention to share to you my timeline. I'm not sure how this will help others but just like eveyone else - I'm anxious.

I'm keeping my faith intact. I know it will come very soon.. ;)

Timeline:

Dec 3,2014 - Upfront medical
Dec 22,2014 - sent app to CPC in Mississauga
March 6,2015 - CPC in Mississauga AOR
March 12,2015 - sponsor approved and app forwarded to CEM
March 24,2015 - CEM received the app
April 21,2015 - PPR
April 23,2015 - PPR sent along with the Appendix A
June 9,2015 - ECAS updated to IP

Right now, I'm still waiting. Some forums I read, once PP is requested visa will be stamped already. But for CEM i think when they request for your PP that will be the start of processing pa lang. Some says, they will approve the visa even beforetheeiration of your medical.

Kayo po, what's your insight? Thank you in advance. ;)

I thank God for his great plans for me and my husband! Here's a follow up update on my timeline.

August 11,2015 - CEM sent an invite for COA seminar

August 15,2015 - Passport with visa and COPr arrived and got it from courier himself today!! Wohoo!
Check ECAS it was on DM! :) --- so surprise ld it came unexpectedly!

August 24,2015 - scheduled to attend COA

August 25,2015 - scheduled to attend PDOS

I will keep you posted guys! Thanks

Once the foreign office requests you passport, what happens then? Do the stamp it with PR stamp an send it back? Or is there an additional stage?

Depends on the visa office. Some visa offices request the passport at the very start of the process. Other offices request the passport when they are ready to issue the PR visa.

Previous undertakings and sponsorship.

Is undertakings sponsorship?

I am making family class application for my wife. I was a FSW and principal applicant. Myself and my previous wife became landed immigrant together Oct 2012. ( I applied in 2011 )

Since I am Canada , I never sponsor to anyone. My question regarding “previous undertakings” . While I am filling up Sponsorship Evaluation form IMM5481. Under the previous undertakings ( Q 5 ) there are questions

1.Number of persons included on previous undertakings you signed as a sponsor and that are still in effect ( provide details on the back of page )

My question is do I have to mention about my previous wife in question 1? If she became landed immigrant with me will that be counted as a previous undertakings or sponsor( There are other part of the form where I have to mention about my previous wife )

I will appreciate any comments about that.

I think you just need to know if the old undertaking lasts for 3 or 5 years right, because you undertook it late in 2012 when the rules changed? Can someone answer? I know it went to 5 years for sponsors not living in Canada, but what about sponsors in Canada?
The OP and his wife obtain PR together through FSW. The undertaking rules do not apply.
