E-cas is there to create the illusion that they are providing you with information. In my experience, the only way to know what is happening with your application is to request your electronic case notes via the ATIP process.

Completely agree with this.

Yes one can know the status of their application using GCMS/ATIP notes as most of the time E-CAS status changes directly from Application Received to Decision Made.

Are you asking that someone writes a letter for you to CIC to allow you to be present for the birth of your child?

You would do better asking in the International Students section. This is for sponsoring your spouse for PR.

Easiest way is for you to get an OWP. Refer to threads in the students section for more information.

ya thanx ,

just now I read about it ,

what kind of information that I will get more than the E-cas ?

hey all..

I am the Principal Applicant, and my husband is sponsoring. I have an Indian Passport and in my passport, my full name is written in the "Given name" column and the "Surname" column is left blank.

Example:

SURNAME -
GIVEN NAME - Anjali Sharma

Now after I filled an application form, its not allowing me to validate the form as my Surname column is blank and I need to fill my name (exactly as on passport),
What should I do to solve this problem ??

Did any one of you have this problem, if yes,, what did u do ?

Plzz help :o

I have no experience with this, but you could Write Not Applicable? and send a copy of your passport where your full name shows and you could also write a letter expaining why the surname is blank (not applicable) Do you actually have no last name or Sharma is your last name? Is the surname written on the Given Name part for all Indian passports or is there a mistake in your passport?

Sharma is the last name.... I knw a few ppl who have this similar kind of mistake in their passport.. but they are not applying for PR
my passport was issued in dubai in 2006.... i duno y they made this mistake... because i had filled out the form correctly :(

I just looked at the ATIP webpage and unless I have my husband's written consent, I cannot make inquiries on his behalf. Because he is not a Canadian citizen (as yet), he cannot access ATIP. So how do we get these notes? He is in Nigeria so he would have find the form, sign it, scan it and email it to me. Am I correct?
