I know this is not a right place to discuss such type of matters but I have no choice.
Here is the situation I send a email to my friend. told her get off from work and visit me but she refuse and send me message which is mentioned below.

"I don't think my father would be too pleased for me to go alone. He's easy going but still pretty traditional. So that's why there has been no trip. It would be great to take time off work though. Who know when that miracle will happen?"

??????

I will be very thankful if anyone help me to reply of this message.
Either:

1) Dad has the purse strings and she can't afford the trip without his permission
2) She isn't ready to meet you
3) She's not truly interested in meeting

I don't mean to be blunt, but are you thinking this is a dating site like ChristianMingle or Plentyoffish? If that IS what you think, I'm sorry but you're barking up the wrong tree. The wise wording needs to come from YOU not someone else.

Getting the applicants UCI number, like most things to do with CIC can be difficult. If you have had previous visa's that you had to apply for regarding Canada, it will be the same number. If you are visa exempt or have had no dealings with previous Visa's then you may not get one for a long time in to the 2nd stage process and only then if you send a CSE. We went from stage 1 approval on July 9th- October 23rd without one until I sent a CSE and one of the officers sent me an E-mail with my UCI.

Hope that helps :D
Thanks , can I know what you meant by CSE ?? Yes I belong to visa exempt country usa.. Visited almost dozen times to canada with no issues.

Hello everyone,

Lots of useful and important info can be found on this forum. Much appreciated for everyone's input.

However, have 1 quick question if someone could share their thoughts and calm my nerves a bit :)

1. We got married over a year ago abroad in my wife's country. We are in the process of getting all the docs in line. I am currently in Canada, Canadian citizen and have enough evidence of our relationship. But when we decided to get married we didn't want to have anyone at our ceremony, basically just two of us and a photographer. All our parents agreed with our wish. Reasons are: a) shortage of funds to spend on the bigger wedding (full-time school), b) all my friends and close relatives are in Canada and therefore, it would not be fair to have some relatives but not others at the wedding, and it would make a very expensive trip for Canadian friends and relatives, c) we are shy people and don't like a lot of attention

So, having said that.....would this situation pose a problem for approval because our wedding pictures have only us at the ceremony?? Should i just try to explain to my best ability our situation??

But ultimately, we are mature adults, and don't we have a right to do things how we wanna do it??

Any thoughts are welcome.

While it is true that you have the right to have the type of ceremony/celebration you want, you still have to explain the reasons why you did it that way to CIC on your application forms. Since you married abroad you can justify the lack of your family/friends presence at your ceremony but you still have to explain why your wife's family was not there. I don't think that being 'shy' would satistify CIC as marrying at a courthouse would probably require little investment by the part of your wife's family and friends unless you can prove otherwise (perhaps you had to marry 100 miles away from her home town?)

My opinion is that it may not sound normal to CIC that a couple that does not want anyone around on their wedding day contracted a photographer to take pictures (perhaps to prove a point to CIC only?) So you may have to give a better reason.

A general questions...

I want to get my wife's passport back from new delhi office so that she can apply for tourist visa to come to canada to give her dental exams. Since they got the passport for almost three months now. What would be the best way to get it back? Email response has been very very long and she needs to be here by mid January.

Please advice. I know some members here have requested passport back. I would like to know generally how much time they took?

Thanks..
Aside the fact that a dental examination is no excuse to fly all the way to Canada from asia and much less an excuse to obtain a tourist visa, chances of getting a tourist visa at this point are slim to none as there is an immigrant application being processed for her. Perhaps you are risking the sucessful outcome of your application (which seems to be very close to being finalized) in desperation to get her to Canada already.

I think from the way you speak you could work for CIC or you already are. You applied in Oct/12 and seem to know all the answers to everyones questions. I'm surprised but then again maybe not.

First...please tell me you actually have normal HUMAN contact with this woman on a regular basis, and that your desire to be married was based upon TALKING with each other (preferably in person, but at the very least over the phone or through Skype). I shudder to think that your entire relationship is based on sending messages back and forth on Facebook.

Second, you don't have to print every little conversation you've ever had. It's up to you to decide how much evidence to submit, but it should be enough to convince someone at CIC that your relationship is genuine. And that takes me back to my first point: if 95% of your evidence is TYPED conversations, you should prepare yourself for the very real possibility that, at the very least, they will request an interview with both of you, and quite possibly reject the application altogether.

In addition to conversations, you should also send things like pictures of the two of you together, pictures with each other's families (if applicable in your case), your wedding photos, a copy of your marriage certificate, honeymoon photos, copies of waybills from packages/gifts you've sent to her, copies of plane/train tickets from trips you've taken to see each other, etc etc.
Thank you for the reply...I already prepared the necessary requirements including marriage certificate, photos on our wedding, honeymoon photos, pictures with each others family, emails etc...but i got stocked with what to do with our facebook messages, which i think important since our conversation was done also facebook messaging but ofcourse we also talked on the phone almost everyday...

You're asking for a lot of information and I don't think there is anyone here who will have the time to provide you with step by step instructions on how to fill out every single questions on each of the forms you need to submit. If you and your husband don't feel comfortable completing the paperwork yourselves - then I would very strong recommend that you hire an immigration lawyer or consultant to assist you.

Quick question,

Do you always get a notification if your interview gets waived?

Kind regards,

No - you don't always get notified (at least not in my experience). My husband wasn't.
