Hi,

I wanted to know. I was on Refugee status and I was arrested and removed from Canada this year. After returning we filled for spouse application and Since I came back to my country, My partner visited me in my home country and we also went to other country for Tourism. My Partner she is Canadian and working in Toronto.

Since, I was deported so I need to apply for ARN. - Anyone knows how long it takes ? and also If I travel to US. Will it problem for me to gain entry as I am not sure if Canadian and US immigration share Data of Refugee.

Your comments will be appreciate.

Regards
You need an ARC. It can take 12 months or longer to process an ARC, depending upon the circumstances. You'd have been better off to comply with the removal order, but there's nothing you can do about it now. Note that you will also have to repay the cost of your removal as part of the ARC process. The VO will advise you that you need an ARC at some point and you will need to complete it.

The US and Canada share border security information extensively. US authorities will have access to your Canadian information (and vice-versa) so it is distinctly possible the US will refuse you entry.

First Stage Approval

First, thank you Computergeek, lostwithoutu, tuyen and all others for answering my question.

First stage approval means you can legally stay in canada for now and that's all there is to it. Correct?

From the other thread, I've found out that you need to apply for open work permit to be able to work after first stage is approved.

How about medicare and schooling? Is there anything I can do to get medicare and to be able to go to school at first stage or I need to wait till I become PR?

Appreciate your answers in advance!

Does the Beneficiary ( Husband) also have a separate UCI number or Is it the same one which my sponsor got it ?

Please clarify!

Each person has their own UCI.

Ugh... my fingerprints were deemed low quality by the FBI and not able to be read. Based on what the senior members have seen here, would it be advisable to get another ink roll (I got a 'rejection guarantee' so it should be free) or pay for a scan?

Really upsetting... was my last piece of paperwork and medicals are done. I hope this doesn't throw a wrench in my application. :(

Thanks.
Hi Amikety,

Im also waiting for background check from FBI. How long did it take for you to find out that they were low quality if you don't mind?

Thanks

Getting the applicants UCI number, like most things to do with CIC can be difficult. If you have had previous visa's that you had to apply for regarding Canada, it will be the same number. If you are visa exempt or have had no dealings with previous Visa's then you may not get one for a long time in to the 2nd stage process and only then if you send a CSE. We went from stage 1 approval on July 9th- October 23rd without one until I sent a CSE and one of the officers sent me an E-mail with my UCI.

Hope that helps :D

A general questions...

I want to get my wife's passport back from new delhi office so that she can apply for tourist visa to come to canada to give her dental exams. Since they got the passport for almost three months now. What would be the best way to get it back? Email response has been very very long and she needs to be here by mid January.

Please advice. I know some members here have requested passport back. I would like to know generally how much time they took?

Thanks..

If she already has a spousal application being processed, the chance of her getting a tourist visa is very very low.

By requesting the passport back, you'll be interrupting the sponsorship process, and will be looking at quite possibly another 6-12 months of delays.

im new here, i just signed up for membership...one of the requirements is a proof of communication such as telephone bills, emails, chat logs..etc...most of our communication is done via facebook messaging, and we chat almost everyday, so it accumulated thousands of conversation  as seen in my inbox of my facebook account...my question is, is it necessary to print all those conversations? i tried to copy all those conversations from our first contact of my wife until the latest conversation we had, and its 130+ pages in a long bond paper, with 0.5 margins, two columns...may i know your answer about this...

Just print a sample (1 a month or 2 a month) and make a note that there are many many more pages of chat history if they want to see more, which they probably won';t.

First...please tell me you actually have normal HUMAN contact with this woman on a regular basis, and that your desire to be married was based upon TALKING with each other (preferably in person, but at the very least over the phone or through Skype). I shudder to think that your entire relationship is based on sending messages back and forth on Facebook.

Second, you don't have to print every little conversation you've ever had. It's up to you to decide how much evidence to submit, but it should be enough to convince someone at CIC that your relationship is genuine. And that takes me back to my first point: if 95% of your evidence is TYPED conversations, you should prepare yourself for the very real possibility that, at the very least, they will request an interview with both of you, and quite possibly reject the application altogether.

In addition to conversations, you should also send things like pictures of the two of you together, pictures with each other's families (if applicable in your case), your wedding photos, a copy of your marriage certificate, honeymoon photos, copies of waybills from packages/gifts you've sent to her, copies of plane/train tickets from trips you've taken to see each other, etc etc.

Are you two listed as in a relationship on Facebook? If so, you can print your wall-to-wall. It'll be shorter and include mutual friends. This is really nice if you have family on each other's Facebook. I included mine which shows my father-in-law, sister-in-law, and nephew as mutual friends.

Click on the status of your relationship in front of your SO's name. ("Married" to Jane Doe - clicked married).

I would also edit out any pictures that aren't of you and her - like memes, LOLcats, etc. They're useless in the immigration process and eat up your printer ink.

For FB chat, include 1-2 conversations per month. Try to pick meaning conversations that aren't terribly long. Avoid anything too personal or naughty ;) You're trying to show an ongoing relationship and that will do it.
