Quick question,

Do you always get a notification if your interview gets waived?

Kind regards,
If you consider a PPR without an interview request "notification" then yes. But CIC doesn't tell you anything extraneous generally - they tell you if they want an interview, but they don't tell you they don't want an interview.

You can always order your case notes via the ATIP program (30 days later you get a copy of your case notes, usually 30 days old.)

Thank you for your thoughts cempjwi.

At that time I didn't realized it would be a big deal to have wedding ceremony without parents, but now it seems it is. :( A little disheartening

Could this issue be a sole reason for rejection?? or they would have to ask for more info?? better explanation perhaps? evidence?

Could her parents write a letter and explain why they weren't there?? My parents write a letter?? Would that be helpful??

And yes, her parents live 150 miles away from where we got married.

It is hard to imagine that after more than 4 years of knowing each other, being married over a year, having all kinds of evidence, spending a lot of time on the distance....all comes down to the situation of how we wanted to celebrate our special day.

Do not know what to think......

If you have all kinds of evidence i wouldn't worry about it too much.

Just make sure you explain(ed) the reasons for a "normal" wedding.

I have the same worries. I asked my father-in-law to write a letter since he was invited, but couldn't attend. Hopefully it will all be okay. :)

Just wanted to let you know you aren't alone!

Her family living that far may be a good reason for CIC. Having been married for over a year by the time you applied will help. Letters of recognition of the relationship from family and friends also help.

Thank you everyone for their feedback. Greatly appreciated.

In the process of getting letters from my family and hers, as well as some friends.

Will elaborate our situation on separate sheet of paper.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Hi I have a few questions for spousal sponsorship. I will be applying very soon for my wife from New Delhi.

My wife lives with her Parents, Brother and Sister-In-law.

1. Do all of them (parents, brother and sister-in-law have to fill IMM5669 (Background Declaration), IMM5406E(Additional Family Information) and Details of foreign travels

2. Second issue is that my wife doesn't have a last name on the passport. Although she will be taking my last name but for the time being I want to file her papers with my last name. She will be renewing her passport soon with my last name but at this time her name on the forms doesnt exactly match the passport. Should I just put in a letter stating the fact that she has applied for a spouse name addition on the passport

Will really appreciate the help.

Thanks

I think from the way you speak you could work for CIC or you already are. You applied in Oct/12 and seem to know all the answers to everyones questions. I'm surprised but then again maybe not.
Oh crap...did I blow my cover already? Damn. Last time, with my other alias, it took over 4 months before I was discovered. The time before that, it was well over a year because I wasn't getting too involved in discussions.

hello everybody. i am Mr.Luke from India. I got the PR visa for my family. ( wife & 2 children). the visa will expire on december 10, 2012 . i am planning to travel to canada alone now on december 2, 2012. i want to know if i can take my family ( wife and 2 children) after 2 years when i settle in canada. can i sponsor them later again.
can someone please help me with the query.

also is there a possibility of extending the validity of my and my family members PR visa by a time period of one more year. i am ready to do the medical check up once more.

and how many days stay is required to complete the necessary formalities like applying for SIN, bank account , health insurance , child benefit etc.

with warm regards,

Hello Mr. Luke from India.
I'm Mr. Tuyen from Canada.
It appears Mr. Leon (from location unknown) has already answered this question when you posted it 10 days ago:

The strange thing is that 10 days ago, you said you had 3 children.

First Stage Approval

First, thank you Computergeek, lostwithoutu, tuyen and all others for answering my question.

First stage approval means you can legally stay in canada for now and that's all there is to it. Correct?

From the other thread, I've found out that you need to apply for open work permit to be able to work after first stage is approved.

How about medicare and schooling? Is there anything I can do to get medicare and to be able to go to school at first stage or I need to wait till I become PR?

Appreciate your answers in advance!
