a few weeks to few months. When did your BGC go in process and the date you got your re-med done.

Cant say it started. Becoz of lawyer cant link my account to MyCIC. however the interviewer said next step is security check

Guys we dont seem to have a lot of July-16 applicants data on the spreadsheet.

I am a Canadian Citizen & currently living in Alberta, Canada and I'm applying spousal sponsorship of my husband.
I've few queries regarding new application kit:
1) I'm currently unemployed; got laid off in Jan 2016, so at present on EI.
Would this affect the evaluation to sponsor?
We had our Nikkah in 2013 over the skype & got married in July 2016 (Rukhsati) in Pak. For proof of relationship, we have social media conversations since 2013, wedding & other photos, and I've lived with my husband in Pakistan for 4 months after my marriage.
2) Would they recognize our marriage as genuine?
I've a NADRA issued marriage certificate & my nikkah nama is both in Urdu & English.
Do I need exclusive English translated copy off Nikkah Name? attested, affidavit ?

What original documents do I (sponsor) and the (Principal applicant) need to submit.?

CIC isn't accepting proxy marriages anymore

I don't know if proxy marriages are legal in Pakistan or not. You got to ask a lawyer about this.

Even if there was a formal ceremony afterwards as mentioned by the poster. A Rukhsati took place last year.

Can't say much about it bro they were not at the same place at the time of Nikah Signing. She need to contact a lawyer about this.

Agreed. They should consult a lawyer.

Several Nikkahs take place in Mosques. Bride signs a few hours prior, and then the groom signs his bit in the mosque on the same Nikkah Nama on the same day and in the same city, followed by a traditional ceremony the same day or in some days/weeks after the Nikkah. But yes it is quite different when its done over phone from different cities or through Skype etc.

Consulting a lawyer is your choice but I think they will recognise your marriage inshaAllah because in 2013 when u had nikkah, Cic recognised the proxy marriages at that time. you had rukhsti already so it should strengthen your case. Just explain it to them that at that time u checked the rules and rules changed in 2015
