Hi! We have almost the same timeline :)

From what I can tell, yes, they would have requested any missing documents with that email so I am really hoping to be in the clear as well. From looking at other timelines, it is about two months for the passport request so fingers crossed for us all with the MCVO!

Awesome!!! the dreams of having my hubby in Canada before August are becoming more of a reality!!! Fingers crossed!

CONGRATULATIONS to all the DMs... May seems to be an active month.

Happy Mother's day to all Moms and Moms to be here

Enjoy ur special day❤️

did ANYONE know when can we expect PPR after DM in ecas?

I'm trying to find out the same thing. I've had DM for over a week now, no other updates.

CIC has just sent us an email requesting a police clearance for my Japanese wife from the Philippines as she lived there for year. The email stated that "the documents must be received in our office within 30 days from the date of this letter" and then said "Please reply directly to this email and put your application number in the title".

We're a little concerned about being able to submit the documents within the 30 days as my wife must travel to Tokyo to do the clearance paperwork at the Philippines embassy in Japan (which she can only do this coming Friday as she needs to take time off work to travel there) where this paperwork then gets sent to the Philippines to get processed, and then sent back to us in Japan. We're really not sure if this can get done within the 30-day time frame given (although we've seen that the turn around time could be as fast as 2 weeks), so we wrote back to CIC (at the email address provided) explaining our case. We immediately got an auto-reply saying that they cannot process our email right away and that "the turnaround time for a response is of 10 business days." We also wrote to CIC as a case specific enquiry explaining the same thing.

CIC also says in the email that "If we do not receive a response within the time allotted to you from the date of this notice, a decision will be made based on the information on your file, which could result in the refusal of your application." By writing to them and explaining our situation, does this count as a "response", or is the "response" sending a reply with the documents requested.

Just a little confused about all of this. Any thoughts or suggestions?

TL;DR: Will our application get tossed in the bin if we don't send requested police documents within the required timeframe for a response, or is any kind of response considered a "response" so nothing happens to our application (minus a delay in processing)?

When you got DM, did the PR applicant also receive an email at the same time? Or did you just see DM in ecas? I'm just curious as I sit here waiting... I feel like mine should arrive any day according to all the other Ottawa timelines.. and now I'm turning into one of those panicky "Ah! What's wrong with our application!?" people.. hehe Thanks! ;)

I figure I've been following this thread long enough I need to start posting! (although I'm not sure how to post without replying to something!) We applied for Outland spousal sponsorship (I'm a Canadian married to a Brit) and our application was received on 26/1/16... We had SA on 9/3/16 and notification for PR processing on 17/3/16 when our application was sent to the London visa office... Here's hoping for a speedy decision! Good luck everyone!

Congrats. I'm happy and I'm jealous. I hope mine comes in 3 months. :) Then I can plan my life.

So I phoned my MP's office today. Got them to work a little bit for me. Hahaha

They phoned the CIC and checked the notes showing our application is APPROVED!!!!!

The only thing that sucks, is they say sometimes the final paperwork processing can take up to 10 months! Usually that is not the case but they had to quote that.

At least I know the approval!

got passport request today

i have one query

My wife has visitor visa and she is planning to come next week on visitor visa and then from here we will send the passport to ottawa for stamping. Is it ok to do that??

any feedback will be appreciated

Hi, similar case. I have also got DM for over a week and no PPR as of now. Not able to understand what the procedure is actually. There are some who have been waiting for weeks to get PPR while others are getting the request in 2-3 days.

I submitted a change of status/tourist visa in mid-December, thinking it would take less than two weeks, and I would get it before i even submitted my PR application in January (I'm American, so I could have just done this at the border, but I thought it would be easier online since I had already been in Canada for a year on a work visa). Now it's May, and my application still says it's been read but no DM.

I had only requested 6 mos on the original application, which will be next month; can I apply for another extension of the tourist visa if I never received the first one?

If the tourist visa was finally approved next month, would I get 6 mos from then, or from the month that I submitted it?
