Thanks Marry,mary63 said:call cic agian and if they cant help, then go see your MP. My MP helped me a lot when my visa was rejected recently! after talking to MP and waiting for a month, cic looked at my application again and asked for my passport! i havent received my passport yet so i dont know how long my visa will be valid for but anyways it's better than nothing. good luck!
sorry to hear that. MP is your member of parliament. depending on the MP, they can be very helpful. I talked to two MPs here and one of them couldnt help, but the other one was very helpful. I also submitted the proof of medical (just the paper that the dr gave me), but in my online application now says medical is not needed! i dont know why they asked for the proof of medical at the first place if it was not needed... I hope you get some good news soontomtomato said:Thanks Marry,
What is MP by the way?
We called this morning, the agent said we sent our medical late, so it is going to take up to 90 days now he said, what a load of xxxx. The agent was mean to my wife, and said we didn't send the medical but it was because she was pregnant and had to delay the x-ray. I even put that in the explaination letter in the application. What a bunch of Axx.
Patience. They are still opening the Feb applications. That is if they are opening any applications at all.shaqhal said:just called call center and my application not in the system yet any March 2014 applicants applications in the system yet?
I applied online for visa extension recently and I'm pretty sure that there was written that you can't submit anything by snail mail to an online application.tomtomato said:Guys,
I am now bit concerned about my wife's visa extension. We filed her application on April 6th, online. so far, nothing from CIC. It was a phone call we made to CIC last month, we were told that they will need the medical report from my wife, again this is from us calling them, not from any email, or notification from them. So we send in the medical report to CIC. but I just realized, the medical report was intented for her PR application, and I just automatically assumed that, PR and visa extension are in the same office, since it is all eletronic, they should have this report throughout all her files.
So now, it has been three month and still no nothing from CIC on her visa application, does it mean that we need to ask the clinic to send the report to the CIC Visa extension office? The strangest thing is, online status showing everything under "not required at the moment". We are confused and angry about the whole process. Why would they require our medical report if we are applying for PR?!
You supposed to get an AOR approx. 4 months after you submitted your file, but for AIP and OWP currently more than 11 months the waiting time and it can be longer.vik999 said:If all documents and clearances are given even then it would take 11 months? I am bit worried as presently, I am waiting for Work permit to come. Would It be possible to get Temporary work permit after we have filed Inland application. Pls suggest
Hi Sophiee, if it takes 4 months to get AOR, does it means the 11 months count is after getting AOR? So from sending the application to getting AIP is roughly 15 months or more? Please correct me if i misunderstood this. Wow..1 year plus of not working and no health coverage. I still haven't apply mine. Planning to do the inland application next year. Outland for me is very long because I'm from Malaysia so if I apply outland from Canada, they will sent it to Singapore. The processing time is 30 months. Might as well i wait the excruciating 15 months. At least I'm with my husband and kids. We're planning to go back to canada in May next year and start with the application soon after.sophieee said:You supposed to get an AOR approx. 4 months after you submitted your file, but for AIP and OWP currently more than 11 months the waiting time and it can be longer.
No. The 11 months* starts from the day that CIC receives the application.mazleen said:Hi Sophiee, if it takes 4 months to get AOR, does it means the 11 months count is after getting AOR? I believe your wife can get OHIP with just her AIP, regardless if she is out of status or not. You may have to fight for it though by applying through OHIP review board for it. We had to do that in order to get my wife OHIP coverage with AIP email letter.mahmow said:Hello,
I have a question in regards to being out of status in Canada. When you receive your AIP, you can apply for OHIP (ontario health) but would that change anything if I was out of status at that time?
My wife is from germany (visa exempt) but her 6 months are expiring Aug 19th. Please let me know. Thanks
Hello Line.a! My bf is 15 years older than me, does that consider a red flag?Line.a said:Hi LostInToronto! You are meaning a lawyer for the permanent residence application I'm assuming! In that case it really depends, if you guys have red flags such as huge age difference then maybe yes I would consider it, but with the help from people on this board would do almost as good. I honestly think that they charge too much, and if you really go through everything carefully, then you should be fine. As long as you guys submit a good quality of evidence that your relationship is genuine, you should be all good. We did it ourselves, and so far so good
