congrats! is it included on your application?

Hey everyone!

I have not been posting much around here, but been following now and then to see what is the latest news.

Just wanted to say I got my Open Work Permit just today in the mail and list Date Issued as 2015/01/13.
I assume this is the new program in working considering I have not received an AIP yet.

Also, I have send in my OWP application with my main application back in Dec 2013.

Congrats to all that got news so far, and Good Luck to everyone else!

While the agency CIC lacked to complete applications in a timely manner, it is NOT the fault of the immigration officers handling the files. please remember these are everyday workers doing their job. it is not THEIR fault CIC decided to delay the processing of inland applications. i'd imagine they have just as much of a say as the applicant and sponsor do. they are given protocols and rules to follow, and it is not the officers who are the ones deliberately messing up the system. that would be the person/people in charge who initated the internal directives to do so. (and no, i don't work for CIC or have any connection to CIC workers, it just bothers me to see the immigration officers continually blamed for something that must be far out of their immediate control. i'm also not saying they don't have any accountability for their own mistakes, which there are many and requires better file ownership, departmental mananement and training of duties. what i am saying is if "blame" is necessary, then blame the top leaders and the lack of proper training.)

The person you are questioning actually filed an outland application. She wasn't inland.

I'm a September 3rd applicant and received my OWP through the pilot program on Monday.
This morning however my sponsor received SA and I received AIP! Looks like they're back on the first stage!

Good luck to everyone waiting!

Thank you for posting this. It's on the front page of the star.com now with over 170 comments.

The CIC will, in time, pay for their actions. As a Canadian citizen by birth, no matter when my spouse gets PR I will never let them get away with this behaviour. Thankfully it seems many others are of the same mindset.

It's beyond unacceptable, and I do not want any other Canadians and soon-to-be Canadians to have to go through what we all have.
