Yaaayy!! SO happy to see the 2013-ers getting AIPs!!!  Congrats everyone. Our time is starting!

I am sooo frustrated!!! Got mail from CIC yesterday…..

Following the instructions of various call center reps (I always call 3 times to see if I get the same answer!)we sent in an Application for Criminal Rehabilitation to the Etobicoke office with the For Information Only box checked at the same time as we sent in our PR. My husband has a record in the US for something that would not get any jail time in Canada, so that should not make him ineligible. However we couldn’t afford a lawyer and wanted to play it safe, so that is what they advised us to do. The “For Info Only” doesn’t cost anything.

So this is what the Etobicoke office did….they stamped they rec’d it in August. They then sent it to CIC Vegerville in October. Who then sent it back to them with a note saying “We do not process these in Vegerville, they are processed at your location in Etobicoke”!!!!! (So first off, WOW…they don’t even know in their OWN office what they process?!??!?!?)

They sent it back with a note saying we didn’t provide a signature on the form for Visa payment. Um….ya….because it doesn’t COST ANYTHING!!!!!...so if they turned to the 3rd page, they would see the “For Information Only” box checked off…which clearly they didn’t……

I sent a cover letter which VERY clearly explaining everything….

So now we have to pay to send it back to them the same as it was before, because they don’t know what their job is??!?!??!?!?! ARRGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now officially "Working on applications received on January 3, 2013".

Processing times of stage 2 were updated, too... From 8 to 11 months :-\

How do they update the 2nd part to 11months when so many have been getting AIP & DM at the same time?!?

That makes it a total of almost 2 years for processing.. I thought the processing times supposed to go down :'( ???

How is the total processing time 22 months…..yet they are working on Jan 2013??? Did they not teach them math at CIC? Lol…

(I know, I know…it’s an average/certain percentage processed in this time, etc.) But they make our lives miserable, we can poke fun at them too lol

Hi ACS, our timelines are very similar. My application was received on August 16, 2013.

11 months for the 2nd step now ?? Where can I make a complaint as a, so called, CLIENT ? CANADA needs immigrants for #ck sake!! And they not only charge u$$ big money, select us with discriminative measures and treat us like s%it on the phone, keep us without rights almost as prisoners in the country, but also make us wait as long as they please, through greedy strikes, laziness or whatever !! Some system is using us shamelessly for the benefit of a few. And it doesnt seem to get much better, just remember all those poor Canadian citizens sponsoring their couples, being punished for falling in love with foreigners... !

Let's keep the faith even the crazy CIC add more time to second stage of this insane process.
The first stage was 11 months and they analized mine in 9 months...so...fingers crossed.

It is happening guys, let's (try) to be positive..
