Come on dude, you will chuck someone out cause their BO is bad? maybe he/she has some health issues. Lets not be that kind of a person?
Food odor emanating from one's clothes is common for those who come from Asian cultures. For some India/Malaysia/Thai folks smell of spices, how fair is it that the Anglo Saxon's enjoy the food in the restaurant but complain when it comes from a person? Same with someone like me from the Philippines or a few like Vietnamese you might get fish/cooked meat odor.

Canadians could soon turn from being pro immigration into anti immigration real quick. It’s already begun.
Where did you get this insight from? Reddit posts and personal experience do not count because they are too biased and small sample sized.

If you look at the latest iteration of the leger polls on immigration :

https://leger360.com/surveys/legers-north-american-tracker-november-15-2022/

Plus, the recent disproportional coverage media outlets and news sites are suddenly offering to discussions about immigration. This was never the case four years back. Canadians are also too polite to discuss immigration in open so you will never see them stating their honest opinions outright. However, a Canadian born colleague of mine recently said that there are too many people coming in and there’s not enough housing. A lot of liberal politicians in Canada ignore what’s happening in Europe and take regular folk’s genuine concerns for granted. It doesn’t take much for the general populace to swiftly change their stance on any issue. Deteriorating living standards can cause that. Take Ireland for example. It’s one of the most welcoming countries in the world for newcomers. However, the housing crisis over there has gotten so bad that the local population is now increasingly becoming hostile towards newcomers, including Ukrainian refugees, which is crazy! This isn’t to say that Canada cannot accept 500,000 permanent arrivals. It’s the massive influx of temporary migrants that’s causing the issue. There’s no infrastructure for such a massive increase in non permanent arrivals. A decision has to be made to send a significant percentage of the temporary migrants back no matter how tough it may sound because there’s no way it’s sustainable. The longer this is allowed to fester, there’s a very good chance that hostility may breed towards even regular immigrants.

Online / web-based survey. Its not really reliable.

Here is a report from Environics Institute, one of the oldest canadian survey doing a survey since 1976.

https://www.environicsinstitute.org/docs/default-source/project-documents/focus-canada---fall-2022---immigration-refugees/focus-canada-fall-2022---canadian-public-opinion-about-immigration-refugees---final-report.pdf?sfvrsn=b31e22c9_2

In september 2022, they surveyed 2000 canadians this is what they found:

1. 69% canadians disagree that immigration levels are too high. Up from last years 65%
2. 85% canadians agree that economic impact of immigration is positive.
3. 64% canadians agree that multiculturalism is very important symbol of canadian identity, up from 54% in 2015.

IMHO, I don't think these data conflict that much. I can easily imagine someone who thinks that "overall, there isn't too much immigration to Canada"(perception of the current situation+want to be a nice person), while agreeing that "The current immigration plan of the government will admit too many immigrants to canada"(projecting the future + hating the government is cool).
I also imagine the average joe would probably think that "Overall, immigration has a positive impact on the economy", but is also concerned that "too much immigration will result in excessive demand for housing, health and social services", even if its "overall positve".

Seems to me that you can tweak the wordings you use in your polls to get the results you want.

Its not the questions themself but whom they as is the problem. Web based surveys are neither likely to be random (they are usually taken up by folks who hunt surveys for money) nor accurate (determining location by IP etc).

Environics Institute randomly calls Canadians on their telephone. Much better control of sampling and ensuring only Canadian residents(citizens, temporary or permanent residents) answer and also ensuring randomness.

I'm saying the data don't contradict each other, so the validity of the polls make no difference.

Even trades gets 1500 and a score of 388 but STEM candidates just can’t get a break ffs !

Very few trades folks in the pool. A lot of STEM folks in comparison. Also, these people have been waiting for FST from years now.
More STEM candidates should mean more number of ITAs right ? Given that they want to target more number of STEM category members. Or am I missing something? Happy for the trades ppl who got their ITAs after waiting for so long. Some of us also have been waiting for a long time BTW with high scores.
