When planning to immigrate to another country, is it better to look for a partner before moving or wait until after relocating? On one hand, finding a partner beforehand could make it more difficult to move, as they may not want to leave their current environment. On the other hand, waiting could mean missing out on potential opportunities to build a relationship where you currently live. For those who have been in a similar situation, what approach worked best for you?

Hi, I need help with this. I got AOR for my mother with a request to submit PCC, Passport, Updated address, and Email address.

My mother was in the USA from January to July 2024( 7 months), then in Canada from July to January 2025( 5 months), and now just went to the USA 3 weeks back. My mother has a US green card, Indian Citizen, and has Canada super visa. I applied for PR in July when my mother was in Canada and I gave her a Canadian address for her in the PR application. Her case is with CPC Mississauga.

I have the following questions.

PCC:
1.
As per the below AOR, I should get PCC for the current country of residence if they have resided there for 6 months or more. My mother is in the USA but only went there 3 weeks back. however, she lived for 7 months in the USA in 2024. She also has a USA green card. Should I get a PCC/FBI record for the USA?

2.
My mother is an Indian Citizen. As per the CIC website, PCC for India is through BLS. In the USA, I did not find a way to get PCC from BLS. But in the USA, VFS does provide India PCC. Can I get PCC for India through VFS?

Updated residential address:

1.
My mother was in Canada when I applied for PR. But she went to USA 3 weeks back. She has a US green card. She will return from the USA in June 2025. Should I give an update on her USA address? Will it result in her case being moved from CPC Mississauga and result in a processing delay?

2. If changing her address may result in a processing delay then can I still keep her Canadian address as she will still return to her Canadian address in June?

3. If I keep her Candain address, will it result in some issues?
(For example, if I get a medical request and she is still in the USA, will it be an issue?? Or I am taking India PCC from the USA and also taking the FBI record, will they object if I am still keeping her Canadian address?? or do they know from border records that she is not in Canada at present???)

Passport/Travel Document:
1.
As per the AOR letter, I need to provide a passport If the principal applicant's passport has expired or will expire within the next 12 months. My mother's passport has expiry in 2031 and I already submitted it with the PR application. Should I still send it?

FBI Record:

To get a USA PCC/FBI record, my mother needs to give a fingerprint. However, due to old age, she does not have ridges in her fingers and her fingerprints are not readable by fingerprint scanners. Does anyone know what is the solution in this case?

The AOR is below:

In order to minimize any delays in processing your file, the following documentation is required for your sponsored family members. If not already included in your application, please obtain and submit as soon as possible:

•Police Certificate: The principal applicant and their dependant family member (if applicable) must provide police certificates from:
•Their current country of residence if they have resided there for 6 months or more, and
•The country where they have spent most of their adult life since the age of 18 (if different than current country of residence).
Your relative is required to obtain the police certificate from that country’s law enforcement authorities. Please send a copy of the original police certificate to this office as soon as they receive it. Follow these instructions to ensure you provide the correct police certificates: www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp.

•Passport/Travel Document: If the principal applicant and/or their dependant family member (if applicable) have passports that have expired or will expire within the next 12 months, please have them apply for and submit a copy of their new passport with a validity of 12 months or more. Please ensure to include the biographic page of the passport.

•Updated residential address: You are required to provide the current residential address for the principal applicant and their dependant family member (if applicable). You must report any changes to their address, telephone number(s) and email address immediately throughout the processing of your application. Failure to provide updates may result in processing delays.

•E-mail Address: Submit a valid email address for the Principal Applicant and/or their Authorized Representative. This email address will be used to communicate with the Principal Applicant and their dependant family member (if applicable) throughout the processing of their application.

One should have priorities in life, IMHO.

Relationship and marriage comes above immigration, IMHO. If and when you find the right person, put a ring on them and adjust rest of your plans accordingly. Its one of the most important if not the most important decision of your life. With right person you can build your life worth living anywhere. Also, a "no" now is not never-ever. Its just that... a no now.

WHat does this have to do with Express Entry? Wrong thread.
