The processing times were last updated May 20, 2015 as mentioned on the top of the page http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/skilled-fed.asp, so it is kind of recent.

My question is still these 24 months are since the file got transferred to Cairo VO or since we applied in May 2014 or any other date?

A
from my understanding it's not a deadline for the VO to finish the application processing but rather an average time they take to process the application,
look at the phrase below
"The tables below indicate application processing times at Canadian visa offices. The times are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases finalized between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015. Processing times are subject to change and are based on a complete application package."

since they mentioned "based on a complete application package" I think it's from the PER date where they must have reviewed that all the documents in the Check list are supplied in the application file

This is very interesting, for two reasons, there was not much delay that we heard of last year... Actually, I heard of non. The second reason is, this 24 months, I believe were the same when I applied first time in late 2013. Maybe those numbers include other types of immigration not just FSW? like family immigration, or refugees etc.?

Anyways, let's hope we will not be that late, I could understand that "few" weeks will be "couple" of months, but not that much "couple" of months :)

These procrssing times are for FSW only as mentioned in the page.

But LifeXplorer, what is the average processing time for last year applications which you are referring to?

Maybe I am just trying to be optimistic and not giving up to the numbers :) I just wanted to say, I didn't hear of any case for 2013 or 2014 applicants that took that long except for us... The 24 months number, I don't think has changed over the past 2 years or so... First time I looked at the average processing times it was 24 months, I think!

Anyways, August is approaching and so is the end of it. Let's pray that this will be the end of waiting and we will hear great news eventually :)

Hi,

Today I login to CIC website to check my application status and I have noticed that my current home address has been added in addition to my current mailing address, anyhow the status still in process with one line.

Regards,

Hi Roby2015,
What did you use to have before this update? only mailing address? do you have different current address than mailing address?

I checked mine and there is only "Your current mailing address " as it always used to be, no change in it nor in the status, still one line.

Hi AbdelAllah,

I used to have only the mailing address since I checked last time which was last week, and yes my mailing and home address are different.
Is your mailing address which you mentioned on the envelop is different than the home address you mentioned in the application?

Actually, I have both mailing address and home address showing now. I can't really remember if that has always been the case... Either way, it might be just a system update... That is the website now shows both instead of one... So, it is not necessary a change in the status... bas ya rab :)

Hi Roby
I also found that they have added my address beside my mailing address which was not the case few days ago(last time I checked)
I' am not sure if this is a system change/technical problem or it implies some movement in the stagnant Cairo VO.

it could be system change/technical problem as they have the below message currently on the website
"Please note that some citizenship applicants are currently experiencing technical difficulties with our e-Client Application Status online tool. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible"
but we are not citizenship applicants!!
beside I cannot find the "federal skilled worker" selection in the drop down menu of "what did you apply for" in the link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp and I had to choose "Permanent resident card (PR card)" which is not our case, however the date modified of the page is still "2014-11-14" which is the date they update whenever a change is made to the page(including content or features and its not related to our specific cases dates), so this is not clear at all....

it could be some movement in Cairo VO as some CPC-O applicants had some similar cases, I checked and found some applicants with this case and I noticed that they received the MR from 2 weeks to 4 weeks after reporting this change and other applicants with this case after doing their MR, below is the link
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t250627.0.html;msg4081680#msg4081680

I second that it's a movement in Cairo VO (just being optimistic as LifeXplorer :) and الغرقان بيتعلق فى قشة as AbdelAllah said)

Update: seems that it could be just some kind of system update as I noticed that this occured the last few days in many VOs like London VO,New Delhi VO & Warsaw VO
update 2 : looking at the below link, what happened in march was similar to our case(applicants from different VOs getting this change ) and it was thought to be global for all the applicants but it was not as by that time we didn't see any change.
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/ecas-updated-to-show-current-home-address-t272967.0.html

Thanks Almohager, so seems it is only a system update.
If you look at the details of some of the people (timeline below their names) involved in these discussions around ECAS address updates, you will notice that after the ECAS address changed, with around 2-4 weeks, an update happened to their files. Have a second look and let me know if what I figured out quickly is correct or not.

Ironically enough, to make the puzzle hard to solve, my mailing address didn't change, nor my home address added ??? so some had this change and others didn't ...

Hi AbdelAllah, but in the generic form did you supply two different addreses in the mailing address and the home address?
