Hello, you can check the CPC Ottawa page there are many similar cases like yours where applicants sent their passports to Cairo VO, I' am not sure about the process and if they need to inform CPC or what.

Guys, you can not do the medical test unless you have got the required forms issued by the visa office. In addition, you will lose time of visa validuty since the visa is valid for one year "FROM THE DATE OF MEDICAL TEST".

NO YOU CAN DO UPFRONT ... , it's true the Visa validity is one year from the test , and can be extended to 15 month , i did upfront and it was accepted (i'm London Visa office), but this should be accepted in all visa offices

I sent an email to CPC, no reply yet.
The question is still open - Can I give my friend's address in canada for returning my passports. He will then ship them back to me. In this case the address will be different from my mailing address, won't it be a problem?

To my knowledge, you need to put a self-addressed Canada post pre-paid envelope with the address to which you'd like your passports to be sent. However, I think that there are legal restrictions on shipping passports from Canada, thus you might consider someone to get the passports with them on their way back...

You can, alternatively reply to passport request email and request that your passport get printed in Cairo (if you are in Cairo). According to the other forum, it takes less than 2 weeks to get the visa printed in Cairo nowadays

Can you please tell us when you have your passport back .... and do you sent it to the Embassy or VFS
