Hello everyone, I wanted to get some information about my Permanent Residency (PR) application, which was submitted on 28th September 2024. My partner and I are both eagerly awaiting any updates. He is a non-accompany on this file.

To provide a brief background, we got invitation and applied our file on 28 September, 2024. Then, medical, biometrics, and PCC from India is already done. He was born and brought up in Saudi Arabia and he was not a citizen of Saudi Arabia (SA), so, he cannot have the PCC from SA. Then, we were asked by IRCC to submit the PCC from SA and on 24th January, we submitted an explanation for the Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from Saudi Arabia for my partner. We promptly submitted the required information, and that was the last update we received from IRCC.

Since then, we have not heard anything regarding the progress of our application. I contacted my immigration lawyer, who said we can only wait over to contact with the MP of your area. We also, raised a web form but we just got an update stating that we are still working on your file.

So, my question is:
1. How effective it would be to contact the MP?
2. Is there anyone who was in the similar situation and can tell me what they did or how long it took to get the PR decision?

Thank you

Your application is non standard since there is a PCC you cannot provide. Since it's non standard, this unfortunately means you can expect longer than normal processing times. You can certainly contact your MP but I don't see what they will be able to materially do to help.

You can request ATIP. But basically all you can do is wait. That's true.
