URGENT: Please help us! Applying for visitor visa! Thank you in advance!

If she's already in Canada on a valid visa, you can apply to extend her stay rather than apply to get a new visa. And "should" doesn't mean "have to".

URGENT: Please help us! Applying for visitor visa! Thank you in advance!

I'm pretty sure the CIC website says you SHOULD extend 30 days before expiry, but that you technically CAN do it even one day before.

    Sending in Additional Docs

I applied outland as well so I'm not 100% sure this is correct, but I think with security clearances and the medical for inland you're supposed to wait until they ask for the documents before sending. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong though!

    effect of refusals on immigration

If you were sponsored to come to Canada in the family class, as a spouse, you cannot sponsor a second spouse until five years after you have become a permanent resident. I believe achander is wrong as well, it's five years from when you get your PR, not five years from your divorce.

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

Don't worry about the postal code being wrong, my sister in law from Australia has often sent ours to the ENTIRELY wrong postal code (ie. something along the lines of VS7 B78) and things still get there fine. As long as the address is fine, it'll get there.

    Sponsor : Cousin:Other family member

No, you can't sponsor him in the family class. Sorry.

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

I'm really curious as to how the law works in this case. Does Canada look at the fact that New Zealand convicted him for an offence that exists in Canada, but that he would not have been charged with in Canada due to a difference as to how the specifics of the offence work? Did kiwi break a...

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

Can you apply for restoration of status? I'd look into that, first and foremost. Otherwise, it's either drive or fly to the border. You definitely don't want to overstay in Canada while the PR app is in process, now that you've realized you've done so, you need to fix it ASAP!

we never declared a child on my wifes application for permanent res

I agree completely, people like this are the exact reason why that law is in place in the first place.

    Marriage is ending.

IIRC they went through the Buffalo office, which was closed, and the files sent to Ottawa for processing, but there have been a ton of delays for many of those applicants.

Conjugal Partner Sponsorship-Opposite Sex(I need Advice)

It doesn't matter what you think, it matters what CIC thinks. CIC thinks the conjugal class is for people who CAN'T get married and CAN'T physically be common law for various reasons (such as bigamy). That's why there are the other classes to apply. I totally understand that it's not easy to...

Outland or Inland sponsorship for self-employed spouse?

While you're applying outland she can come to Canada too as a visitor (assuming the border officer lets her in), she just won't be able to work. Apply outland now, and then have her come to Canada with you to wait out the process.

NEW HERE - need help! Want to apply for PR - US out of status

And if for whatever reason you're deported from the States, and have a ten year ban put on you before your interview, you will not be able to attend your interview and you will have to go through the ENTIRE process again in China. You can always stay in the States and apply through the China...

Outland or Inland sponsorship for self-employed spouse?

Apply outland. That way, your wife can definitely still work, and if for some reason she's ever refused at the border, your application doesn't go to waste. The chances of her being rejected when re-entering the country are low, but it is still a risk, and since applying outland is faster for...

we never declared a child on my wifes application for permanent res

He says in the first sentence that he sponsored his wife to come to Canada and when he did so they didn't declare the child. Has he made other posts somewhere that I've missed where he explains it more clearly? His daughter turns 18 in three months, I don't know about laws in the Philippines...

we never declared a child on my wifes application for permanent res

Not to mention he sponsored his wife, and so the instant they tried to declare one of HER kids, her permanent residency would also come into question. There's just no way he can sponsor his kids.

Medical Exam - When? / Spousal Outland Application

Wow, my husband had no problem getting his outland medical done inside Canada before applying, before having a UCI.

October 2012 Applicants! Here's our thread!

If you're applying inland, you're not going to hear anything for around five or six months after you sent the application. The people getting their approvals for stage one are all of the people applying outland, where stage 1 has been taking about a month. You don't have anything to worry about...

Australian or NZ applicants - share timeline here !!

I'm sorry to hear about your surgery and your husband's homesickness. I imagine it must be very tough for him not to be able to work, absolutely. It must be tough, but if you got married in February hopefully you'll be nearing the end of the process soon!
