Unable to get married and unable to be/prove common-law

There are actually quite a few countries that allow same sex marriage now, I would hope that your partner would be able to get a visa to at least one of them, although granted I am unaware as to the challenge Russian citizens may face in that regard. Iceland and Denmark, I know have same sex...

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

Excellent, thanks so much!! I BELIEVE (but obviously haven't gone through it yet) that the COPR comes by mail, I remember a few people in this thread talking about it arriving through the post. edit: one more question as well, do I include my info (being the wife/sponsor) on Appendix B? I...

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

Now that I've calmed down somewhat lol... :D Can you print out, fill out and scan Appendix B and e-mail it with the passport pages, or does it have to be physically mailed?

Colombian marrying with my Canadian boyfriend

From CIC's perspective, it doesn't matter. If he can physically come and live in Colombia with you (which he can) then you do not apply for conjugal. If you can both go to Brazil and get married (which I assume you both can), then you absolutely don't apply for conjugal. If you apply for...

    Passport request for US LPR

Yeah, you'll need to send in your passport. Your green card doesn't really mean anything to CIC, they need your passport, and since you're not a citizen of the United States, and you're from a non-exempt country, they will almost certainly need your actual passport.

Fee Payment - Separate or all together?

Yes, as others have said, if you can pay it all together, as it will result in fewer delays.

    Spousal sponsorship

If he has T4E, T5 or T5007 slips then yes he should include them. If he does not, then no. It will not jeopardise the application while the payment of the taxes is going on, no. If CIC has received your application within 90 days of the police certificate being issued, then you are fine. They...

    Which type of Spousal sponsorship

I can't answer your immigration questions, but you really need to talk to a tax accountant, since you spent more than half the year in Canada and have residential ties here (your name on a lease) there is a good chance you ARE in fact a Canadian resident for tax purposes, and may have to deal...

    Sponsor name concerns...help appreciated.

I'm the sponsor, my middle name isn't on my passport (I figured I'd get it changed when I renew the passport). I did as the form asked, giving my name as it's written on the passport, without my middle name. I then put my full name including my middle name in the aliases section, and attached a...

    RPRF question

No one can say for sure, but you're probably near the end of the process. I'd venture that if they're asking for the RPRF that they're not going to ask for an interview. Regardless, if you don't pay the fee, you're not going to get your COPR.

    Termination of Sponsorship

If he's already a PR, you can't terminate the sponsorship. You can always contact CIC and tell them you think he married you fraudulently and they might look into it, but that's all you can do.

Quaid's fail at Spousal Sponsorship Application

Yeah, this would be my guess. Their relationship was probably genuine but my guess is they didn't do something they had to like the FBI report.

    Can I work?

Once you actually have permanent residency you can work. It is during the process that you cannot.

If you look at the Sydney spreadsheet no one has had an interview in over a year, so everyone's status changed to in process without an interview.

Australian or NZ applicants - share timeline here !!

I believe she means the request for fingerprints from Canada. I didn't know whether or not she needed them, but I believe she has been advised that she does need to get them in another thread.

Applying for Visitor Visa After Spousal PR submission

Honestly, you're even less likely to be approved for a visitors visa now that you've put in the application for PR, sorry. You can always try, but your odds of success are going to be very, very low.
