Australian or NZ applicants - share timeline here !!

Yeah, the worst was when my mom (who is French and has a strong French accent) actually came to visit me in Australia. We went up the coast, me, my husband and her from Brisbane to Cairns. In the YOUTH HOSTEL at Airlie Beach, the receptionist started complaining to the three of us about how...

Australian or NZ applicants - share timeline here !!

We lived in Australia for four years, I became a permanent resident of Australia just before we'd planned on leaving (by coincidence, not by planning it that way, we actually thought I would leave before the permanent residency came through). So we've been through the entire process in...

sponsoring a child out of wedlock

Did you even read the link that was posted? It definitely looks like it might be possible for the child to be sponsored anyway, on the basis that the father didn't know about him/her.

Old lady wanting to stay in Canada as De Facto family member.

She'd still die alone in a country with none of her family. They're all living in Canada now, and sure you can hire someone to take care of her, which it absolutely sounds like the family would, but is that really the same as being with the family, including the children you basically raised...

    spousal sponsorship outside Canada

At the moment you're looking at one month or so for Stage 1, and around 9 months for stage 2 in Paris, so 10 months in total: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp

    Spousal sponsorship

Oh, yeah, of course, I completely missed about the thing about him being the sponsor. I thought he meant the applicant was the dual national.

    Same-Sex relationship sponsorship

If you're not currently living together, you won't be able to sponsor your girlfriend until you have married. There is a conjugal class, but there is basically no chance that you'll be approved (it is for people who, for whatever reasons, cannot be married or in a common law relationship). It...

    Spousal sponsorship

You don't give them your second passport, you just need to give them both numbers in the application. They only need one passport to give you PR, generally the one from your "main" country.

    Spousal sponsorship

No, you'll be fine, you just need to give both passport numbers.

Old lady wanting to stay in Canada as De Facto family member.

This is basically exactly what the H&C category should be used for, I think.

    Applying from New Zealand

Yes, you mail everything to Mississauga, where they will do the first part of the application, which is checking that your husband is eligible to be a sponsor. They will then mail the application to Sydney. You MIGHT eventually have to send in your passport, but that won't be until the end of...

Thread For applications Through SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Office

Honestly, basing your plan on being in the top few percent probably wasn't a good idea (especially when you have a child, which can take longer to process, and it sounds as though your wife isn't a natural born citizen of Australia, which means that any additional checks that have to be done may...
