    CPP-Ottawa

So still no news from CIC, but I hope they hurry up and start giving out more PPRs. Especially since I have to now save for a wedding since my boyfriend and I just got engaged today. :)

Oh no I get that, but I think what tuyen was saying is if you are gonna be settling down in Canada, why does your status in the UK take precedence over what will help you in the future? I mean the situation isn't fair, but not all countries have the same laws. If something happened to me in the...

    Age Difference

I get where tuyen is coming from. It doesn't really make sense to not get married when that is what you want to do and have the opportunity to do so. I mean my boyfriend and I are common law in Canada but it isn't recognized in the US, which we could care less about since we aren't going to be...

    CPP-Ottawa

I didn't get an acknowledgment letter from them either. Three only reason I know it was transferred is because my GCMS notes and the call center in Canada said it was.

    CPP-Ottawa

I finally got my GCMS notes that I ordered last month. It's dated December 19, 2012 and thankfully my application was in fact transferred to Ottawa it seems. I haven't looked into it too much yet, but that's all I was really interested in.

    Tech Based Relationship

I get that, but it just didn't come off that way in your original post to me. So I apologize. And yeah trips back and forth from the US to Canada can be pretty expensive. I think my boyfriend and I spent at least 5k on trips to go and visit one another for the year we were in a long distance...

    Tech Based Relationship

That isn't the problem, the problem is that you said "physical presence isn't important to us" and you mentioned that "we both have tons to do in long distance so there's no real reason for us to visit the other because that is just a waste of money right there." Which if that is the case, it...

Do I need a study permit for online classes

Ok awesome, this is what I was wondering. Because one course is 6 months and the other is 7 months or so and I think I'd like that one more. Thanks amikety!

    Tech Based Relationship

Am I the only person who read this: I really hope this was sarcasm. And I'd get as much proof for the relationship if I were you, as your application sounds like it will have a few red flags.

Do I need a study permit for online classes

I'm staying in Canada right now under a visitor record that is good until this December. I found an online course that can be completed in 6 months and was wondering if I needed a study permit to take it.

Haha, so true. When babies first come out they are not cute at all. They look like little bloody aliens to me. I didn't want children myself, until my first nephew was born. Had it not been for him, I still probably wouldn't want any. Him and my other nephew are the only children who have made...

    Age Difference

So you still don't think those are legitimate questions to be wondering about? By the way, I don't consider 17 years to be as big of an age difference as say 30 years. I dated someone who was 15 years older than me once. And looking back on it, we were in two very different stages in life. He...

    Age Difference

I'm sorry, but yes you should be looked at closely if you are marrying someone old enough to be your parent or grandparent. If I were the VO I'd be wondering what does someone who was raised in a different era have in common with someone old enough to be their kid? Are they in the same stage in...

THE END OF THE WORLD IS 21DEC2012,LETS STOP WORRYING ABOUT OUR VISA:p

Haha that's not a bad idea. Look kids, this is what we survived and we managed to help repopulate the world in the process. :)

    Sponsor : Cousin:Other family member

Do people not attempt to read the guides on the official website? No you can't sponsor your cousin. One quick search for "Who is eligible" under family sponsorship to Canada tells you that you can't.

    Marriage is ending.

Thanks, I hope you do as well, and hopefully you can land soon! :) Also ELOH, I really do feel for you, but I agree with others that this probably was the universe's way of nudging you into the arms of the man you really are meant to be with. I went through a similar situation with one of my ex...

    Marriage is ending.

Oh Shiny88 I wasn't saying that exactly in response to you. Just some others who posted here. :) And yeah in your vows you say you plan to stay together "for better or for worse". Well this is one of those times when "the worse" part hits. If you can't withstand the storm, chances are in the...

    Marriage is ending.

I agree with this, but we can't put the blame on ELOH. She wasn't the one who gave up on her marriage, her husband did.

    Marriage is ending.

Interesting, although there are some things on there that I'm pretty sure are wrong such as the divorce rate in the US hovering near 50%. I'm pretty sure it's closer to 30%.
