Hi Jaxax, In general you must stay 2 years out of 5 inside Canada in order to maintain your PR status, but there are some exceptions (living with a Canadian citizen abroad, working for a Canadian company abroad, etc.). You can read all about it here...

Hi Appy, This is just my opinion but I don't think your PR status has any relevance to the GC application. There may be a form later on where you have to disclose your citizenship(s) and permanent residence status(es) in other countries but until then I don't think it matters at all.

You can do your Medicals in any country as long as you choose a doctor from the CIC list. There is no requirement to do it where you originally applied. Added bonus: depending on where you are, you may end up paying a tiny fraction of what you would pay to a doctor in the US ;)
