    Anyone with experience bringing pets?

I thought I would briefly share my experience since I moved home to Canada with 2 cats from South America. (I am Canadian, so not sure about any PR issues with pets though) I had my vet in S.A. do a full exam, vaccinations, etc. and he prepared the necessary paperwork for the export from...

Hi - I thought I would share our experience too. I'm Canadian and my husband is Bolivian. We are applying through Lima because it is the embassy responsible for Bolivia. help filling out the FORMS - What´s the best answer to those questions??

Here is my opinion on these questions: 1. No - if he is there, he isn't accompanying you on the trip. You could add that as an explanation but they will see clearly that you are going to visit him and he lives in Canada. 2. Tourism 3. Put the dates you want to stay and be honest. But remember...

Where do they send medical forms for Outland from Brazil?

They charged us the same way here in Bolivia - one cost for the med. exams plus x-rays, blood test, etc. and then a seperate cost to send them via DHL to Trinidad & Tobago. The doctor explained every test from South Am. is processed there, as mentioned above by other posters.

Can my wife get a visitor´s visa? We live in Colombia and I´m Canadian.

For her to be issued a visitor's visa, you will both have to show (as a family, really) that you have very strong ties to Colombia and that the purpose of your trip to Canada is a visit ONLY. Your application will have to convince the visa officer that your wife has no intentions of staying in...

my relationship is genuine but i have doubts on my in canada sponsor application

I agree, sometimes reading other people's stories make you doubt yourself. but remember, every case is different and there isn't one solution for everyone. some stories are complicated, involving lots of different aspects (like divorce, moving, children, military service, etc.) so those people...

Almost Ready to submit - got 3 questions...

I can't comment on all your questions since the requirements vary from region to region. I would suggest following the checklist and getting someone else to look it over with you for the "extra pair of eyes" and just make sure you follow their list. as for the visa office, i recall filling out...

    option c printout

mine didn't say the words Option C Printout either - actaully, I got it mixed in with other tax documents in April and almost had to request another one because I wasn't sure what I was looking for! If you requested the Option C and that's what they sent, then include it.

Do ALL the identity and civil status documents need to be translated?

We had my husband's birth certificate translated. Can you contact the local Thai embassy (not sure where you are living now) and ask for names of translators? Or you can look up private translation services/companies in your city? just some ideas...

so really.. why are spouses rejected?

check out this article in the Toronto Star from yesterday to see why CIC may be skeptical in some cases...these are the kinds of people who ruin it for the honest couples out there just trying to be together. I was very angry when I read this and also felt terrible for the woman. it's amazing...

    Too suspicious or What?

a letter from your mom would help in the section where they ask you to prove your plans to return to Canada. as a Canadian citizen, you can apply living outside Canada. but you have to prove you will move back when your spouse gets approved. so I included a letter from my parents stating they...
