We have 2 babies as well. We would like to be in Canada as soon as possible and were wondering if this is an option before sponsoring for family class? thanks!

For her to be issued a visitor's visa, you will both have to show (as a family, really) that you have very strong ties to Colombia and that the purpose of your trip to Canada is a visit ONLY. Your application will have to convince the visa officer that your wife has no intentions of staying in Canada on a permanent basis.

My husband and I live in Bolivia and we got him a visitor's visa to come to Canada with me (Canadian) to spend Christmas with my family. We provided our lease agreement for our apartment in Bolivia, bank accounts, round trip plane tickets for both of us and letters from our employers to show that our planned trip was a vacation only and we were returning to Bolivia. He was issued his visa and we made the trip and returned. Now we are filing for Perm. Res. from Bolivia.

There is lots of useful info on the Visitor's Visa Forum here which helpd me prepare our application last year. I believe that was the reason we were able to get the visa. If I didn't know everything I learned here, we might have been rejected.

Good luck!
