no he doesn't have that, just the passport with the work visa, his lmo and contract is all he has... i hope he won't have any trble at the poe.

can someone explain to me what is this "letter" you guys are talking about? my friend has a work visa; he also has his LMO and contract and is coming to canada in a few days. he never said anything about getting a letter with his passport. will he be fine with his LMO and work contract at the POE?

each provincial nominations is different depending on which province you are getting your nomination from, so you may want to provide which province you are dealing with.

well i guess there won't be any problems with getting his work permit at the POE, as his visa is the work visa after all, so that should help ;D sorry i was mis informed through helping 2 different friends.

get them to check if the current LMO can be canceled and re done in your name instead, if not, a new lmo like the other poster said will require them to post an ad for the job in the paper for x amount of time before they can get it.

i would suggest you still get your employer to write this now and send it to your current application, im sure you can give them more documents while it is being processed..

very true! man sad people don't take more time to get these applications filled out properly, a simple mistake can be very costly.

this has nothing to do with english... he prob thought the question was for him, those forms are easily mis-interpreted. his best chance would be to hire an immigration lawyer to deal with it now i'd say.

no companies does that, even when they go through a liaison here in canada, the liaison gets the work permit applied to the country where the person is hired from, and companies don't pay for that, its funded by the government, that is why it don't sound right. can they send you proof of this...

like the other poster said, it's only 150 for the work permit and you apply in your own country, not in canada. in order to apply they need to give you your contract signed by the boss and in your name, plus have a labour market opinion approving the job to an immigrant.

in conjunction with the provincial nomination, did the job require a Labour Market Opinion from the HRSDC and a contract with the employer? Did you have those documents as well when you applied at the embassy. normally you need to apply for the work permit and once that is approved they in turn...

yes he should def ask his boss or whoever do their Human Resources stuff if they will get a Labour Market Opinion for him to apply for the proper work permit, that should take care of the visa and all.

so when he comes at the POE and they ask him why he wants to come to canada, he gives his LMO and contract? does he need other documentation, or to fill out anything (cos he don't read and write). can anyone give me details on the process he will go through at the toronto airport upon arrival...

he did not know he would have work when he applied, he paid a 150 for his visa.... sad if he has to pay another 150 again at POE.

for the lmo it depends for how long the company has been advertising the job and for how long they haven't had canadians interested in it.... if they already employ immigrants there, then they would already have a contact person for LMO and that shouldn't take long to get if they have done so in...
