They will ask for your passport to stamp single entry PR visa anyway. I have temporary worker visa valid until late December 2014 and CIC asked for my passports to stamp a visa.

It's in T4, so it might be possible to provide tax credit in case of closed work permit.. :)

They asked me about BOWP application receipt... A couple of weeks after I've received a letter stating that they refuse to pay me EI... :)

I'd say that it is nearly impossible to get EI on closed WP. At least I failed to do that and Service Canada told me that they will pay me EI as soon as I get Open WP which was not an option for me as closed WP expires late December 2014 and CIC refused to issue an Open WP couple of times.

Are you sure they no longer send you SIN card later? It was paper first, then card about 5 weeks later a bit more than 2 years ago when I had applied for (temporary) SIN.

There are numbers of other applicants from July, June or even May 2013 (9, 10 and 11 months respectively) as well as few earlier applicants. So no one can tell you how long it will take to process your case. Personally, I had to wait full 4 weeks from medicals received to passport request late...

Immigration officers were not affected with that strike while Foreign Security Officers were. Those people "manage" visa issuance abroad. Thus, Immigration officers were used to "offload" temporary visa processing, making immigration case processing slower...

There is Whirlpool Rapids Bridge and Lewiston-Queenston Bridge down the river as well.. :)

I paid RPRF early March, did medicals next day, sent them Birth certificate for my newborn (Canadian) son as well as Biodata requested on same day. Case log updated with "Medicals received" on March 13th... Waiting for PPR since then (almost 4 weeks)... So, no one actually knows how long it will...

I'd say you might try to "inform" CIC about upcoming family composition changes, probably with some proof of engagement and ask about documents for your wife. It will definitely slow down your application. Or, you can do your own medicals "silently" and proceed with immigration, but you'll need...

We are not supposed to inform CIC. Some people sent scan of the medicals receipt using e-mail. My case was changed to "Medicals has been received" 9 days after medical assessment was done and doctor said he will upload it within 2 weeks after assessment. I'm waiting for PPR for 3 weeks since then...
