I called IRCC today and the agent said their system is down and couldn't provide update on progress on profiles. What kind of a joke is this agency

It was 3 years when the processing time on IRCC's website was like 18 months...now it's down to 8, I am guessing things would change. I ordered another set of notes about 3 weeks ago, still haven't got them...also next week is when the Vancouver Office should respond to the call center, so I'll see if that actually did anything

There are a few things you need to watch out for when you need to determine if you were a resident for tax purposes from Dec 2018 to Q1 2021, such as do you possess a driver's licence, a provincial health card, bank accounts, property or a living dwelling that can be considered a home...etc.

    GCMS - RC-8090

I agree, as I've said numerous times before on this forum, IRCC just uses non-routine whenever it's convenient to them. It's as arbitrary as it gets.

CSIS and CBSA notes for Background Check

Did you write to CSIS through a webform? Why didn't you use ATIP on CSIS?

Test Completed But BACKGROUND CHECK in progress.

This part of the forum is for citizenship applications, not visitor visa....

    Taxes when Temporary Resident

I think you would still need to file taxes for that 3rd year. If you didn't work nor have any income that year, all you need to do is file for nothing.

Congrats! I am kind of in the similar boat as you, I think I may be the last person in the January 2023 thread

    Applying for passport outside Canada

If I remember correctly they will send the passport to the closest Consulate General's office and the applicant will have to go to the office for pick up. But yet, definitely put the UK address in the application.
