CSIS and CBSA notes for Background Check

Seems like your file is stuck with CBSA then. Do you have any abnormal leaving or entering the country records?

Look at my sig, my security clearance didn't get cleared until 12 months in. "Coincidentally" I applied for CSIS and suddenly my BG got completed. I don't think it's really a coincidence.

You are only 3 months in, don't worry about it or you'll stress yourself out

I don't think they are super duper slow, but like the other member said, it was when the average processing time was 18 months. Now the processing time is 8 months, I am sure we'll see more files not being handled as quick as people may think

Test Completed But BACKGROUND CHECK in progress.

I mean if they felt safe enough to grant you permanent residency, I am not sure why citizenship is all of a sudden a security risk

    Vancouver office- Citizenship

ah...no that's incorrect. For example, my GCMS notes showed LPP not started after BG cleared for months. And when my MP reached out to them, IRCC just blow them off by saying my application is non-routine. However, according to IRCC's own non-routine application definition, my application didn't...

I don't think they said it's a right. But it is definitely an expectation for IRCC to do their jobs properly.

    GCMS - RC-8090

At least you applied in Nov 2023, so it may not be as bad as you may think. If you applied before say July 2023, then it may not be good.

Test Completed But BACKGROUND CHECK in progress.

Have you requested for GCMS and CSIS notes?

    GCMS - RC-8090

Oh I once said IRCC just use it as arbitrary as they want, and someone came at me with pitchforks saying it's not...like how is it not when half the time when IRCC can't even tell you why is it non-routine.

May be I am getting a little tunnel visioned, but I seem to see the Vancouver office slowly turning into RC-8090 with some people's experience of delays

    March 2023 - Citizenship Applications

AH! That I have experience with. I think it was around late 2023 I still didn't see any movement with my BG, so I requested GCMS notes and saw CBSA completed their check very early. Then I saw someone saying you can request for CSIS notes to see if the security check actually proceeded. I am not...

    June 2023 - Citizenship Applications

I must have posted this link like 5 times in the last few days, but there's an actual definition of "non-routine citizenship application": Link.

    June 2023 - Citizenship Applications

Do you mind to share your timeline so may be someone can provide more help? My file is also with the Vancouver Processing Office and it's really not getting anywhere. Side note, have you applied for GCMS or CSIS notes? If you have, when and what do they say?

    1) Does the agent want to put in a reminder for you all depends on who picks up your call. I think I called 4 times and one time the agent was willing to do it. So, it's really by luck, but keep trying. 2) They use the "non-routine" excuse way too often. There's an actual definition of...

    March 2023 - Citizenship Applications

I think your MP office is just telling you whatever IRCC is telling them. Something similar happened to me when IRCC told my MP office that IRCC needs more time to look into my file, when the reality is the GCMS notes showed the tasks either completed or not started. So, how can they know they...

    May 2023 - Citizenship Applications

For my MP, yes. Once I sent them the email asking for help, they sent me a form to authorize them to contract IRCC on my behalf.
