Knowing how IRCC does things, I'd just say yes and get the certificate asap. You leave more control in their hands, the more uncertainty there is.

It's almost starting to feel silly that the longer your application is in with IRCC, the even longer it's going to stay with them. It really doesn't feel like they work like First In First Out, but rather Last In First Out.

Just talked to IRCC, and the answer was the Vancouver office knows this file is over the general processing time and all I can do is wait. I am going to to find some other ways to push this.

Nope, other than a couple of weeks back I saw on my GCMS notes that the Vancouver Office may not even have an update until December. I may take the approach of someone else on the forum to just do a webform and say I will go writ of mandamus if they don't break silence.

So the online tracker would likely tell you steps other than Oath as completed or in progress, but that's not entirely true. The GCMS notes would actually tell you if a specific step has started or not. Other things to note are which office is handling your file and if any other agencies are...

Well that's not our fault is it? Had IRCC be more transparent and be held accountable on their actions, there wouldn't be any wild theories. Better yet, if they hire a third party as an ombudsman to follow up on any hold ups, unresponsive to enquiries, unjust...whatever you like you call it...

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. When have you ever heard IRCC calling someone to ask if they can attend an upcoming Oath ceremony? Something must have happened resulting IRCC to react that way.

When you said you hired a lawyer, did the lawyer go through writ of mandamus? If so, the lawyer is writing to the federal court and not to IRCC.

I've got passed CBSA and CSIS, so it's really with IRCC at this point

The writ of mandamus path had came up a few times in my mind in the past couple of weeks. The only thing is I don't understand why do we need to spend an extra couple thousand of dollars when we did nothing wrong in the process. This makes no sense to me.
