    It's just so crazy

    Vancouver office- Citizenship

Knowing how IRCC does things, I'd just say yes and get the certificate asap. You leave more control in their hands, the more uncertainty there is.

    March 2023 - Citizenship Applications

It's almost starting to feel silly that the longer your application is in with IRCC, the even longer it's going to stay with them. It really doesn't feel like they work like First In First Out, but rather Last In First Out.

At least things suddenly moved super fast for you, there's still no update for me :/

    Vancouver Office Citizenship Applicants

Just talked to IRCC, and the answer was the Vancouver office knows this file is over the general processing time and all I can do is wait. I am going to to find some other ways to push this.

Look at the Vancouver office thread: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/vancouver-office-citizenship-applicants.791321/ I think there's something going on with the Vancouver office, it seems there are hold ups for quite a few applications.

    Vancouver Office Citizenship Applicants

I feel like the Vancouver office is turning into the Sydney office. They told the Montreal call center to tell my MP don't come bothering them for 6 months, but by then my file will be 24 months with IRCC for processing. It's just ridiculous that there's no transparency or accountability with...

    Vancouver Office Citizenship Applicants

Nope, other than a couple of weeks back I saw on my GCMS notes that the Vancouver Office may not even have an update until December. I may take the approach of someone else on the forum to just do a webform and say I will go writ of mandamus if they don't break silence.

So the online tracker would likely tell you steps other than Oath as completed or in progress, but that's not entirely true. The GCMS notes would actually tell you if a specific step has started or not. Other things to note are which office is handling your file and if any other agencies are...

    January 2023 - Citizenship Applications

Well that's not our fault is it? Had IRCC be more transparent and be held accountable on their actions, there wouldn't be any wild theories. Better yet, if they hire a third party as an ombudsman to follow up on any hold ups, unresponsive to enquiries, unjust...whatever you like you call it...

    March 2023 - Citizenship Applications

I am a January 2023 applicant and like my sig says, LPP are not started on my GCMS notes.

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. When have you ever heard IRCC calling someone to ask if they can attend an upcoming Oath ceremony? Something must have happened resulting IRCC to react that way.

I'd like to say it's your conference that triggered this quick response. But it could also be you mentioning the Writ of Mandamus that may have sent chills down some people's spines. My grandparent just got diagnosed with stomach cancer and she's really old, so it may be my way to tell them to...

    January 2023 - Citizenship Applications

I am not surprised if my file is in a similar situation. My MP enquired about my file and in the GCMS notes it showed the Vancouver office is waiting for a "stakeholder" to respond and the MP can reach out again if I don't hear back by December. By December my file would be at 24 months. And...

    January 2023 - Citizenship Applications

Speaking of strange things, my recent GCMS notes showed the response IRCC gave to my MP's office... They basically said they are waiting for a stakeholder's response and if I don't hear back from IRCC by November 2024, the MP office can reach out again. WHAT? WHAT stakeholder? Why would there be...

It's either your lawyer is smarter than us or they just want to charge for more money

When you said you hired a lawyer, did the lawyer go through writ of mandamus? If so, the lawyer is writing to the federal court and not to IRCC.

I've got passed CBSA and CSIS, so it's really with IRCC at this point

    January 2023 - Citizenship Applications

The writ of mandamus path had came up a few times in my mind in the past couple of weeks. The only thing is I don't understand why do we need to spend an extra couple thousand of dollars when we did nothing wrong in the process. This makes no sense to me.
