    May 2023 - Citizenship Applications

I think there are 2 things to note: 1) Fingerprints requested - that automatically makes your file a non-routine file. Yet, like I've said probably dozens of times here, the "non-routine" designation is used whenever it's convenient to IRCC, so it probably means nothing. 2) BG not completed - So...

    January 2023 - Citizenship Applications

Honestly even just a bit more transparency in what's really going on would help a lot on easing people's anxiety, especially every time anyone calls there's just the same answering machine response...

    January 2023 - Citizenship Applications

My MP just got some reply from IRCC, basically the same non-answer that they need more time to review. I am just lost on what type of "review" is happening when processes are either completed or not started.

Good for you, I really feel like who picks up the call makes a big difference. I think only 1/4 agents picking up these calls are willing to do anything.

Am I a non routine applicant?

This is one of the things I dislike the most about IRCC. They have a clear definition of what non-routine application is on their website: Link However, they don't always follow that definition. In your case, fingerprints were requested, so yes, your file is a non-routine file. Does that mean...

    Vancouver office- Citizenship

First of all, thanks for typing all this stuff up for a complete stranger. My file (and my wife's) has been a journey to say the least, but nothing had been this much out of control. You may think it's torture, I don't really feel that way, I feel it's more of a motivation to keeping me going...

PGP - New Interest to Sponsor Form - Reopen??

Well it's not an overnight decision and certainly not based on just 2 lines I wrote on a forum. It's literally just an idea on a forum that we all know the government(s) has no interest in investigating or doing research on, regardless if it's even viable or not.

PGP - New Interest to Sponsor Form - Reopen??

I agree the federal government can introduce a standard for the policies and let private (or in some cases provincial health agencies, depending if the province is interested of course) to use as a guideline. I think policing is actually easier than you may think, as long as the standard is set...

PGP - New Interest to Sponsor Form - Reopen??

You do realize that a supervisa holder isn't simply a visitor right? To be eligible there needs to be a PR or citizen to sponsor them and the requirements for the sponsors are ironically very similar to PGP. And for those health insurance policies, just tie them to the sponsors who are PRs or...

PGP - New Interest to Sponsor Form - Reopen??

That's pretty much exactly what I said. The policies provided by the government can have the exact coverage as the private ones, i.e. no pre-existing conditions, long term care etc. The key issue with the private ones are they are notoriously difficult for claiming even just for a $60 walk-in...

PGP - New Interest to Sponsor Form - Reopen??

ah...no, there are a few provinces that provide auto insurance, so it's not an absolute no. And just like any insurance plans, there's a policy that can limit on what type of coverage is there, just so then things like long term care and chronic illness may or may not be covered depending on the...

PGP - New Interest to Sponsor Form - Reopen??

I think I have said this before but I will say it again. The timing of announcing what they are doing this year is very different from the past few years (i.e. doing it before June vs. in late Q3 to Q4 time). It may be something, it may be nothing, but I suspect IRCC will do something the PGP...

    January 2023 - Citizenship Applications

I just got another set of gcms notes, LPP still not started. And for those people who believe the due dates meant anything, they were all in January 2024, so ya they don’t mean anything.

    January 2023 - Citizenship Applications

I just called yesterday and today and there's an automatic message saying their computer system is down and wouldn't be able to look at the files. I hope this doesn't mean the processing of files is stalled too. What a joke of an agency
