My MP just got some reply from IRCC, basically the same non-answer that they need more time to review. I am just lost on what type of "review" is happening when processes are either completed or not started.

Good for you, I really feel like who picks up the call makes a big difference. I think only 1/4 agents picking up these calls are willing to do anything.

That's pretty much exactly what I said. The policies provided by the government can have the exact coverage as the private ones, i.e. no pre-existing conditions, long term care etc. The key issue with the private ones are they are notoriously difficult for claiming even just for a $60 walk-in...
