Ejay, rajaryan gave pretty good answers to your questions, I would only add that you must send the certified Iqama translation with the photo copy of Original Iqama, and according to my knowledge and experience you have to send the original certificate, degrees and diplomas. And nothing to worry, they would be returned. Immigration don't keep the original educational certificates. And if you are not sure of anything call directly to the embassy and they would answer that, I called them twice and they entertained my questions with quite a respect.
