Zainy, don't apologise for sounding ungrateful. You've paid a lot of money for this service but the the service you've received is appalling.

458_Bridge, it's not even that clear-cut. My daughter and I received our PPR early November with the requests for the old sized photographs. We sent the old size in and did not get requests for new sized photographs (we have received our PRCs). Some people who sent the old sized photos got asked to resubmit, some didn't. there appears to be no logic to the process.

My son's PR card finally arrived after 167 days, having resubmitting photos in the new size. Fingers crossed my husbands card turns up soon.
I would like to have the freedom to travel out of the country...

Thank you Taddy! It has honestly been a long and frustrating journey, and like kiwi_girl said, it would be nice to have the freedom to travel out of the country after you've done your due diligence. I'll be sending my "new" pictures this week. Let's hope all goes through.

Question regarding the pictures.... The only pictures I ever sent CIC were in August 2015 with my original application. I've now landed. It seems from what I'm reading that I should expect to get a request for new pictures - since the only pictures they have are from August and presumably before the switch to new cards/new photo specs - for my PR card, right? Can I be proactive and send in new ones or should I wait? And the other odd thing is some people who have landed recently have gotten their cards in 4-6 weeks it seems... I'm guessing, although I'd have to go back and confirm, that those people had only provided photos when they applied in the fall of 2015. I'm very confused....

Has anyone received their Cards this week ?

My wife's PR card arrived earlier this week, only about a month after our landing.

Congratulations.

My wife's PR card arrived on Feb 22nd, 9 weeks after landing on Dec 20, 2015. They had told us 8 weeks at the time. We had submitted a second "URGENT" PR card application in early February due to an upcoming March 18 trip out of Canada. Thankfully, one way or another, they produced the card on February 12th and we have it. We are done, for now!

That's good news.

Just as an FYI for others, they won't do an "urgent" processing for new cards, only renewals.

I am travelling before you so I sent an application to have my card processed urgently, along with proof of travel. I got a response to say they don't do urgent for new cards.

Thankfully we have our cards now.

You guys so good, they use first in last out approach. I landed on mid nov and resubmitted photos last week. They really miss those resubmit photos group

So it has been 41 days for me.

I just called CIC and they said- There has been a glitch and its taking a little longer. Please call back on 19th March if you haven't received it till then.

Just came as regular Canada Post snail mail.

So since I'm still waiting for my PR card since mid November and I've read that people who got their PR in November had to resubmit the passport photos, I can assume the same applies to me when I give those agents a call tomorrow morning?
