I am with you all, I landed November 27th and travel to The Us weekly for work via YYZ. I have only been sent to immigration once and had to wait to speak to an officer. I hope the card comes soon since as of March 1st you are required to have your PR card with you while traveling into Canada no matter the mode of transportation. This process has just been horrible!! Although I will say 26 entries and only 1 visit to immigration, not too bad!!

Really? I think it is still fine whenever you cross the US-Canada border by your own/rented car with CoPR only.

I landed in Toronto on 20/01/16. How can I check status of my PR card? How much time will it take. I need Canadian photo ID to show in college for admission. Should i wait for PR card or apply Ontario photo ID?

As you only landed 27 days ago I doubt you will get much, or any, information by calling CIC.

You can use your landing Document to apply for a Photo ID, and your School will accept the Landing document as a proof of you being a PR.

I have used landing paper for admission in college and they have accepted it. The only problem is I have applied for OSAP and I have to submit papers at the post office. I think the post office will only accept Canadian photo ID. What should I do?

First off, apply for a Learners License. That's ur Canadian ID. U will get it right away. It might take 10/15 days to get a picture ID, but you can use ur current Passport as the ID.

Seems like the processing time is sticking to 42 days. Fingers Crossed, hope it stays like that.

Just received a notice today that they need a new PR card picture I travel about 16 times back to the states in the next couple months and this is going to greatly delay the process of getting my actually card. Any thoughts on someone I can contact to expedite the process? I have called the CIC contact number 17 times today and every time they hang up on me saying they have an influx of calls. After a year of waiting for my approval and now this I am so done with immigration!!

does the processing time of 39 days means that i will get my PR card only after 39 days ? or this number of 39 days is an avergare and i might get my PR card before 39 days ??

This is great news,
From 105 days from a couple weeks ago, to now 39 dyas, this sure is progress. Lets hope it is actually true and stays consistent.

Fill a new PR application and Mark it urgent, also use your local MP to send a letter along with your application.

Good luck.

I guess thats the processing time. I doubt you will get it before that, but u never know.

CIC surely realises that with the new ETA requirements on March 15th, people are expected to show their PR cards or PRTD to board any plane back to Canada. If the long delays in processing new or replacement PR cards continues, the overseas Visa Centres will be totally overwhelmed with the huge increase in PRTD applications. They are just creating another problem elsewhere!
