I received PPR early November, got COPR mid November and landed at the end of November. I wasn't asked for new photos and received my PRC a few weeks ago.

There's no logic to it.

Seems like the 40/45 days PRC receiving has stopped or maybe no one is updating the sheet. Haven't seen anyone getting there cards in a past few days.

We are in the same boat (like a lot of people) that landed Nov 10 and only now received an email requesting new photos. My husband is on a contract that makes him travel every month, and without timelines for resubmitted photos he may need to apply for more than 1 travel document :-X >:( This is so unjust, why not advise people ahead of time??

If anyone is able to figure out a way to expedite things (letter form MP, etc.) please share..

No Harm is sending them the pictures, even if they didnt ask. The pattern is that they will send you a letter.

Thanks, we actually did receive the email (an agent forwarded it to us), so will be definitely sending the photos as soon as possible. Crossing fingers it doesnt take another 4 months..

So its been 41 days for us, and i called to check the status and see if our Card was sent into production or printing / mail.

They as usual refused to give any answers. They said that wait time is 39 but they have a 3 week delay, so do not call back before 39 days + 3 weeks time.

Down to 38 days today on website
Yes but there are delays of about 3/4 weeks.
And this is for folks that have landed this year. Folks that landed September/October last year are still waiting.

I called the second time today and got some other information- My card would be ready in Mid April. So not sure what to believe.

Hello everyone! I just started reading this thread the other day and did not realize there was a big issue with PR cards being delayed... My wife will hopefully be getting one in the next couple months and needs one to travel (Fly to the US in early July).

My wife's US Outland September application just went to DM on the weekend. Hopefully we will be receiving COPR in the next couple weeks and landing at an immigration office or flag poling within a month. I don't know how the process of landing works, but have a couple questions:

1) Once she goes to the border with COPR, what will she be given? Can she travel back and forth to the US only by car until she receives the PR card?

2) We took her PR photos in August and sent them in with no other requests before DM. It sounds like the photos could be an issue? From what everyone is currently experiencing do you have any suggestions on avoiding a big delay in getting the PR card given the fact we likely were given DM with old photos and she needs to travel by plane t the US in July?

Thank you for your help and advice in advance!

Please verify if this correct- I got this info from the call center agent -

and i Quote " ur ecas in only updated with the PR information once the PR is ready to be mailed"

Can someone verify this please.

Has anyone seems any updates on their Ecas about PR Card ?

I dont think your ECAS would update about PR cards. Ours says application complete - and the last line says when you landed as permanent resident. Maybe this is for replacement PRs?

CIC Agent told us that you will know if a PR card and been printed and mailed, by checking on ECAS. So just confirming if that information is correct.

I've got my card and ECAS didn't change a bit at all. Maybe it's for people renew their PRC but not for the new landers, hope this helps.

I received the request asking for 2 photos with the new specification today.

The new specification can be seen at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf

The size has changed from 35mm * 45mm to 50mm * 70mm, the same size as that in Canadian passports.

According to that specification document, they changed the photo specification at Jan. 04, 2016, so I guess everyone who has given the old 35mm * 45mm photos along with applications would be requested to send new photos.
