Hi, all
I applied for TRV on auguat 11 and got passport request on August 29. We sent the passport on August 30th and on tracking it is at bangalore visa office now.
any idea or is there reason to worry about?
how long TRV they are approving for?

thanks

we got approved for 3 years for trv :)

I applied paper application from vfs ahmedabad on july 28. Its still showing in process at bangalore.

Can we apply for GCMS notes for TRV while its in process? Has anyone applied for gcms notes for trv, please share your experience.

Hi, everyone as my wife got appproved TRV, we are planning to book a ticket for her to come to Canada, just have a question that can I book a return ticket for 4-5 months or it has to be shorter duration like 1-2 months as we have shown she is working there. do immigration officer ask lot of question...?
she got approved for 10 years...

Guys,
My wife's TRV got approved and got 1 Yr - Multiple entry.

All the best to everyone.

Anyone applied for TRV paper application for spouse between July 23 and July 27. Please inbox or reply here. Thanks.

My wife just got back her passport with TRV today. Multiple entry, valid until her passport expires (5 years).

We didn't purchase a return ticket beforehand, but provided bank statements from both of us for past 3 months, and proof that my wife and I are both working abroad. FWIW her PR application is still in progress and we have SA. Now we are planning a visit to Canada for Xmas :)

Hey Everyone,

Is it safe to apply for spouse's TRV before sponsorship? If my spouse's friend send him Letter of Invitation, and i have zero involvement in his application, will that be safer way? or there are still risk involved? My friend told me Immigration people check online, they check on facebook and if they found out we are engaged it can jeopardize his TRV as well as PR case.

So, is it safe to apply for TRV once my sponsorship is approved? Please advice :)

I got a TRV for my wife without sponsorship in three weeks including VAC to and fro time. Moreover my wife has been given multiple entry till her passport is valid which is 2024.

I did not file a detailed application. I think the main thing is that you wife should be working and should have a travel history. In my case my wife is a CA working for an MNC and has been to Thailand on our honeymoon. Was really a breeze.

Best of luck.

When did you apply? Was it paper application or online?

Online application. It took ~2 weeks to get approval and 3 days to get the passport back with visa. Some factors that I think made it smooth for us:

- We provided proof of my wife's travel history
- We provided proof she is university educated
- We provided proof she is currently working and has valid residency in her country of residence (Singapore)
- We provided both our bank statements for the last 3 months
- We provided an explanation for why she intended to visit Canada, for how long, and a full itinerary for our time there. We also provided contact details for my relatives where we would be staying.
- We were upfront about the fact she has a PR application in process and provided the application #.

That's about it really. Essentially they want assurance the visitor has no intention to overstay and reason to go back, and it's on the applicant to prove that.

Oh, yours was from Singapore, so it was done fast, I guess. We are waiting for almost 2 months now for TRV applied from India. :(

Do we really need to book return ticket while applying for Trv.
Thanks
