You know what's making me ill?

I am a Greek-Canadian and i am an admin in a FB support group for Greeks immigrating to Canada. Most of my friends who are FAM have applied in Mississauga and from there their case is forwarded to Rome.
Rome take 8 months in the worst case scenario. But many of them finish in less than 5 months. my co-admin sent her apps to sponsor her husband on August 1st 2013 and just yesterday her hubby received the COPR.
This is one of the many many cases i know and they are having these short processes.
And i can only taste it and feel angry that the neighboring Rome is sending all my friend to Canada and we are still here for ever

Dear Tom,
There was more activity in Vienna in the past month then the entire last year. It looks like all January applicants are being processed right now, so I believe you will hear from Vienna by the end of next month. I understand your frustration, believe me ( after 16 months we are still waiting). I am afraid to be happy with their request because I don't want to be dissapointed if it doesn't get finalized soon. I know you can't plan anything and your life is on hold...It is very upseting that we as Canadian citizens are treated with such ignorance. Don't lose hope, your application will be processed very soon.

all the best,
Eva

I agree with Eva.
All the latest activity is a very positive sign and we might see a lot of "Yay"s next week hopefully, my family included. Eva, be happy, don't get discouraged, remember Europe's husband got PPR 3 weeks after the medical, so anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks, is what people are experiencing. That's why I hope the next week will be the lucky week for us too. It's my husband's birthday on Sunday and he's the most positive guy I know, he attracts "the luck". So I hope they will make it his birthday present. :):):) Keep posting all the good news, let's get the positive energy moving. ;)

Hello Folks,

I have also applied for my wife through the Vienna office. Here my details:

App Applied: Oct 26th, 2013
APP received: Nov 08, 2013
Sponsor Approved: Dec 06th, 2013
Status on ECAS website:
Permanent Residence
We received your application for permanent residence on November 8, 2013.
Medical results have been received.

A little more details, I am a citizen of Canada. My wife is 21 and just finished university, never been out of the country, never worked. Just school and summer's staying with parents.

I am a little confused about the online application status. I would have thought that it would say, app received, followed by, we are working on your app, followed by in process and eventually "medical received". From reading the forums people usually say that medical received is one of the last status updates before decision made.

Am I getting excited for no reason? Could it be that they put Medical Received, but it does not mean that the application has progressed?

Anyone can shed some light ?

ECAS changes to "medical results have been received" when the application reaches the VO and is matched to the eMedical file. It doesn't really mean anything, it just means that your medical file has been successfully matched to your application.

When did ECAS change in your case? I applied one month after you and my ECAS doesn't say anything about medicals.

Another question, does applying for GMCS notes look bad? Do they know you applied for it?

No, it's not a bad thing. It is your only access to the information on your immigration file and most people apply for the notes at certain stage.
In your case, I think it may be early.
However, based on the stats for the applications similar to yours, you might indeed be near the end of the process. Usually, when the sponsored person is a female with short/simple personal history, the background process is straightforward and the file gets processed quickly. Kind of discriminating against men and people with more interesting(so to speak, don't get me wrong) life experiences, but, heck, lucky for you.
Good luck to both of you.

Thats what i thought about our application, straight forward. My wife has had the same job for 17 years, lived in the same house for 34 years, never lived in another country. And we are still waiting. We applied for gmcs notes in nov. after 8 months and it said in process but for eligibility - NOT STARTED, criminality - NOT STARTED, security - NOT STARTED, medical - RECIEVED - EXPIRED. And now coming up on 11 months i don't think anything has changed. According to the notes they havent even looked at our application so how would they know if your straight forward or complicated. I am bitter because come feb. they will change the process time to 15 months and then if I contact my mp they will say wait until the 15 months is up. Its like chasing a rainbow for F***S sake. Last week i had to leave my wife for the third time. I would rather be apart for another year then have to say good bye again. Just cant take it anymore. So for those of you in the initial stages of your process you might be that 1 in 10000 case that gets processed in 3-4 months. And i wish you all do...but reality is buckle down.... make some popcorn because it like your watching the never ending story. The other day i heard about a guy who kept calling vienna, they told him keep it up and we will put you at the bottom of the pile. Dont want to rain on anyones parade but be realistic....read this whole forum to see what we all go thru before getting PR.

Milan,

I can only imagine how you feel. Our 23 months of waiting together are nothing compared to your 11, and having to leave your wife for the third time.
You are right, it is hard to make assumptions or sense out of any past experiences, but we have to hope that one of these days it will be our family that everyone will be congratulating.

Ne daj se, proci ce I ovo.

Cheers!

Hello everybody! Me and my husband are also going through Vienna. On February 14th it will already be 12 months. So far, the status on eCAS shows "application received". A couple of days ago I have requested the caips notes and here is what they are requesting: a new police certificate and details of the arrangements I have made for my return to Montreal (we are going to Quebec). Then, there is a sentence at the bottom of the document which says that as soon as the required info will be provided, your application will be put back in the queue for processing. Now, based on that sentence does it mean that they haven't started processing it yet? Can they require more documents or is that it? This is so frustrating! :( I mean this is already the 12th month now...Does anybody know by any chance what this all could mean? Thank you very much for your time and advice! Linda

Hi Linda,
the fact that they requested documents means that they already started processing your application and once they receive them you will be put in queue for further processing. It's hard to say what stage you are at, they might need to do background checks or something else, or you might be at the end...My husbands e-case is showing: we started processing your application January 18, 2013...so here we are a year later and 16 months after we sent in the application and still waiting. We had document requests in March last year, and again just last week. So, you might be at the end, but there is chance that it will take some more time.

We phone the MP office 2 weeks ago,
she respond to us on the email that she likes to discus the case and to phone her.
WE try to phone her on Thursday and Friday and we didn't have a chance to reach them.
WE will try once again in Monday.
Is it normal for the MP office to ask for us to phone back. Or they usually have a short email back to you.

please anyone what does it mean by the MP Office (we should discus the case)?????/
have a great weekend.
