I did try and no luck.
I dont really need to check anything under the UCI for my part of the application, so its fine. I tried getting an answer from CIC and Vienna about this, and never really got a straight answer.
Thanks anyway :)

Hello,
I am sponsoring my husband through Vienna VO. Here is our timeline:
Application Received: Feb 22, 2012
1st Medical Done: August 30, 2011
Sponsorship Approved: May 23, 2012
AOR: June 12, 2012
Fingerprints requested: Oct 15, 2012
In Process: Oct 3, 2013
Interview: November 19, 2013 (new police certificate, marriage cert, military book, originals requested)

The visa officer at the interview reviewed everything and told my husband that everything was fine and that the new medicals had to be done ASAP so that we can get home by New Year's(btw, we've been together in Serbia throughout the whole application process, we have 2 kids, 6 and 1 year old who couldn't stand being separated from their dad for 30 minutes, let alone longer).

So:
Medical re-done: November 26, 2013
New Background Declaration and Non-accompanying dependent declaration requested: November 25, 2013

We have been waiting since then. It's been over 8 weeks since the new medicals were done and all documents sent. We called the doctor's office and they confirmed that they sent the results the next day.
We emailed Vienna VO twice in the meantime and they responded in the same manner they had been responding every month in 2012: "Please be informed that we have not received all background check results. You will be informed about the further steps AFTER we have received all background check results; "
We relied on visa officer's word, (who appeared to be a very nice gentleman), and after 23 months of waiting patiently, we were hoping to be home by New Year's. Why are they stalling us now?

All of you wonderful and experienced people, do you have any ideas how long after the 2nd medical, and in our case, after the interview and all other final documentation has been received by Vienna VO, would they issue the PPR?

Thank you in advance for all your responses.
Cheers,
G

Hi guys,

Does anyone know how can we print the skype? and yahoo msg?

Thanks,
Sarah
for Skype, you have to scroll up until the beginning (this is for the latest version, for the older version there are three buttons in the part where you can see the texts: this week, this month, from the beginning. and you choose from the beginning). Then you just have to select them all, copy, and then past into microsoft word (or any other text editor software that you have). It shows the date and time and everything.

Hello my dear!

I am so sorry to hear of your plight! As much as I know that Vienna is a slow and backlogged office, I cannot believe that they are doing their best to keep a family like yours separated! My heart ached when you said that the kids cannot be separated from their dad even for 30 minutes.
For crying out loud!
Who the hell they think they are! Controllers of human lives and emotions?
I do have the feeling that with the exception of only a few lucky ones here, all the rest of us will grow old waiting for this terrible VO (with the otherwise very polite interview officers as some of our members claim)
Have you try to get your GCMS notes. I am sure if you did, you would have been able to see why they delay you so much! No country has the right to penalize people like this!
I hope you get your DM today!
At least you guys are together and that soothe's ugly feelings..

Wishing you the best of luck!

Tom

Thank you Tom.
I've been reading these forums for 18 months now and cheered for all those who received their PPRs or DMs, tried to analyze the stats, fixed the spreadsheet, :), etc...while hoping that it will make some sense somehow.
After we were told that we would be home by New Year's I rented an apartment in Vancouver for our, now bigger, family, set up all utilities, set up job interviews, and guess what, we are paying a rent for an empty apartment, utilities and I started canceling interview by interview as the time goes by.
Our 6 years old was supposed to start Grade 1 in Sep 2013, he keeps asking every day: "how many days till we go home?" Both of our children are Canadian citizens, my husband's mother and sister are Canadian citizens in Vancouver.

CIC broke my heart a long time ago. My family or any other family doesn't deserve to be treated like a "case". We are CANADIAN families and should be treated with respect.
I wish you all the best of luck and remember that we are blessed to have our loved ones, our health, and everything else will fall in place when it's supposed to. Stay positive and grateful! :)
Love,
G

Dear CanucksFan,
I couln't beleive what I was reading!!!!! OMG, this is just beyond comprehension. To tell you the truth I am freaking out right now. I thought when they ask for the second medical and new police certificate that means it's at the end!!!!

My hubby did his 2nd medical yesterday and sent in everything else requested. They requested the military booklet in March last year and since last april they were telling us the same thing: when the background checks are completed we will notify you about next steps.... We are waiting since Sept 2012 and we are not together...I am in Canada and he is in Serbia.
I hope that it won't be much longer for you...and for all of us here waiting. There has been quite a bit of activity in the past few weeks in Vienna so I am not losing hope.

All the best to you and your family. I hope it will be finalized very soon.

Hi Nada3,

Don't lose hope, it will be ok. I do strongly believe that we are all at the final stage and that we should all stay optimistic, it would just be so much better if we had some feedback and the dates to look for.

I emailed my MP in Vancouver today asking her to look into what is going on and how much longer are we going to be in this black hole, so to say. :)

It has been an interesting journey for my family and I, it gave us a completely new perspective on life and our priorities. In a positive way. I was lucky to be able to work remotely and spend the time with my husband and kids every day, and that will stay with our kids forever. So, we try to look at all the positive things that enriched our lives, and are grateful for it. I feel that it is the right time to move on with our lives in Canada, and that it will happen soon. We pray to the "immigration Gods" to look favorably upon all of our families. :) All the best, G

Hi BumpAhead,
Don't worry, think about your baby. Your husband has you in Canada, and soon he will have his little Canadian baby as well.
Canada is a wonderful country and Canadians are wonderful people, all of us included.

It is the Canadian Immigration system that needs to be reformed. The Canadian families, like ours, shouldn't feel the repercussions of the fraud cases and/or be forced to separate for the lack of Immigration staff.
We pay our taxes, and those taxes pay the Immigration staff salaries.
So, it means that I've paid for my own misery, doesn't it?

As I said before, don't worry about the things you can't change. You are happy to have a man that loves you and the baby that will need your love, patience. You and your husband will be responsible for creating your baby's happy world, and not the Immigration Canada. So be strong, your husband will be with you soon and you will have a beautiful future with your new baby.

I love this saying:
"The purest thing in the world is the heart of the mother. It can move the universe. It can cause an effect beyond limitation. The prayer of a mother is the most powerful thing on the planet”. - YB

;)
G
