Congratulations Ljiljana! Since the COPR is only valid for the next 3 weeks I would suggest picking it up in person and continuing from Vienna to Canada directly :)

If this happens to us I will have to do a round trip just to land ... I have to give my current employer 3 months notice before I can quit ....

Wow so many great news today! Irsa, Ljiljana, congrats!

Ljiljana, I don't think he has to go all the way to Vienna, I mean it's a lot of money?! I don't know about Fedex and the others but I do know that DHL has a 3 day arrival guarantee (or even less if you pay extra), plus you can track it.

PS. Thanks everyone for your kind words!

Congrats to all who got good news :)

Toronto asap if you get a chance to check out the Vac in belgrade please let us know. They have pricing on the website and actual drop off times for passports. I think it is between 2-4pm. And you can track registered mail thru posta.rs once it leaves serbia. Last week i followed the additional documents my wife sent. It actually went to spain before it made it to vienna. And when my wife sent me the signed applications i was able to track it the whole way to canada.

Sure, I will check it out with VAC and let you know. I know about tracking it on posta.rs, but few months ago it wasn't possible from the moment it leaves Serbia, I tried it so many times, that's a great improvement!

Hello everyone! First of all, once again congratulations to those who have been lucky and got their COPR recently and can finally be with their loved ones!
And now the other side of the coin ... If the CIC website indicates that applications are processed at the time of arrival and on the discussions on this forum we see that this is not the case, is there a way to appeal to someone who is in charge of Canada embassy in Vienna? I repeat, I'm happy for all those who got a visa, but what about the others who have applied much earlier? Who decides whose relationship is more powerful, who needs to be with his partner sooner or later? I know many people on this forum whose relationship is genuine, whose husbands were not in the military, and are still waiting for a year or more ... Injustice! How happy I am for the good news for some of you today, so am I angry because many of us were skipped again! I wonder, how long more?

I can feel your pain but I don't think it means that one relationship is more powerful than the other. CIC starts processing applications in the order of arrival but some applications take longer to process than others (for example because of military checks where other applicants did not serve in military). That's why some get COPR when others who applied much earlier are still waiting.

Way too many factors influence the processing time ...

I wont to join in congrats to all with good news.

And Cvrca there is no justice never, that u can count on it.Some people must go in that category 20% that they proceed slower. It is not important name,it is just statistics.of 10 people, they ll give "easily" to 9,and that last one they ll make it goes through hell, not because he/she is not good enough, because for statistic reason. But for that one it ll be 100% hell.

They know that we, all who apply, that we try very hard to satisfied their every request. it is not me or u or anybody,it is some small number that it must exist unfortunately.

But head up,show must go on.

I agree with you but i dont think they go in que. might depend on the visa officer how quick they process each case. In the begining i read on the forum if your file is neat and in order organized they will take that before an application that doesnt look organized or filed neatly. But we will never know that. All of our goals are the same but each case is unique. Yesterday i read about cic actually losing half of someones application and POR. Need i say more hahahaha.

Well Kopje,

I am a woman, and never served in military. According to that, and for example the relationship is genuine, and everything else is OK, how can be that someone who sent its application few months after me, receives a COPR before me? That's what makes me frustrating... No sence at all, my life is on stand by because of some visa officer!

Guys thank you so much for worrying and sending positive thought to the universe for me :) And Muby and jkhan thanks a lot for your advice!!!

I'm sure it helped because it all went perfectly!!! I'm officially eligible :)

I didn't get the chance to write earlier because I had an early morning flight to Vienna (didn't get even a minute of sleep, guess I was too excited) and had a return flight late in the evening so was soooo exhausted and went strait to bed, after 12 hours here I come :)

The interview was about half an hour long. I came earlier expecting that they will look into the documents I brought but he actually took them 3min before. I had 3cm thick pile of papers so I think he just read the essay where I explained all the things he can find inside :) To think I spent a week to prepare them! I was so proud of my pile :(

I was nervous as if I'm passing some kind of oral exam, prepared days before in details :) But the moment I looked in the officer's eyes while he was taking that pile of papers I knew that it's all going to be fine because I could see he was this normal guy just doing his job and not someone who is going to question every word I say.

The questions were standard, first only about me, based on Schedule A, which I signed again at the end. Then it was about our relationship, he asked me to imagine it in a linear way, actually to describe the whole timeline of our relationship since we met till that day. He wanted facts: visits, trips, dates of proposal, marriage, next planned visit etc. It was interactive because he interrupts when he wants details, explanations or wants to move to the next time period but generally he was supportive. I could see from his body language that he was listening and also noticed that he doesn't know everything we wrote in the app or maybe that was an act, not sure. Also, the officer who called for an interview is not the one who is doing it, I didn't know that either. At the end he said: we're done, wow this was easy! I'm sorry you had to come all this way, congratulations! :)

All in all, it was less stressful than I expected. What I don't like is the interview room, it has less than 3m2, looks like it's underground!!! 2 tables and glass in between from the floor to the ceiling with a small hole so he can hear you and you can exchange papers. No natural light, no windows, luckily I'm not claustrophobic!!! I think there are cameras as well but I tried not to think about it. He types while you talk so that was a bit strange for me because I prefer eye contact. Also, I generally talk fast and a lot so I had to slow down, not easy :)

At the end I asked him what we can expect next because we want to be able to make plans finally. He checked in the computer and said that I had passed everything but medical expired so I can expect medical instructions by email. I asked about the extension, he was like you don't need that, it's gonna take longer than to do another one?!!!! (never mind the 135 EUR but what the hell) He said: I would say early spring you are ready to go! Knowing them and reading about Canucks fan experience I just hope it's not gonna be after May. I scheduled my new medical for tomorrow! So we're very happy, for now! :)

In this positive mood I will say it's gonna be over soon for all of us guys!!!

I don't know. But I am sure they are not making you wait on purpose ... at least I want to believe that :)
