Also, congrats Kitchloo!!! :D

Just FYI, in case anyone is curious, I called CIC this morning to see if they would be able to tell me which VO would now be handling my application since Buffalo closure. The response I received was "All of the files from Buffalo are all in transit to CPP-Ottawa. You should wait a month and then call back if you have not heard anything by that time". However, aren't applicants still receiving PPR/correspondence from Buffalo?

First thoughts was 4chan.. but then you say UK based and the creator is American so now I have no idea :P

Haha, I had to explain that one at the border too! :P

Also g-man, Guild Wars rocks too. Played the GW2 beta?

Hell yes! Another one upcoming this weekend and I'll be back with my wife just in time for both of us to piddle away our weekends trying out the new races! :D

So I finally got my passport back this week. I asked CIC if I could just email them a PDF copy so I don't have to wait on snail mail, but I doubt they'll get back to me quickly anyways so I'll just mail it I suppose. My land-before date is coming quickly (July 19)!

I received a similar answer a couple days ago when I called CIC, but obviously that's not true. In theory, I believe applications in the final stage are supposed to go to one of the other offices in the US and newer applications are being forwarded to CPP-O. Who knows. It seems like the call center agents haven't gotten a lot of information about this either.

belinasha and I both got our approvals end of may and were transferred to LA...so who knows at this point maybe files that were just approved are sent out to other VO's and the ones Buffalo had will be expedite in ottawa?

Happy for you, kitchloo!

Out of curiosity, what happens if you get your PPR, but your on a visa in Canada that will end before you get your passport back... you can't go back into the states without your passport?

I suppose that would be CIC's fault, as I understand they're not supposed to give you a visa that outlasts the validity of your passport.

I think you got the question wrong. I think what was meant was that the Visitor visa they were issued will expire before the passport is returned from PPR. Not the passport expiring before the visa.

Yes :P Passport doesn't expire until 2018, student visa expires Feb 2013.
