We applied electronicaly for a visitor extension April 26 and the new Visitor Record arrived in our mail June 4, 39 days later. This was a very pleasant surprise since the CIC website says they are currently processing applications from 67 days ago.
The condition on the VR is that a medical exam must be done within 90 days, but we got all that done a couple of weeks ago, so that's good.
We had a hard time getting statutory declarations of our conjugal relationship notarized (or "commissioned"?). The legal clinic at my university does notary services one day a week, but when we went there, they wouldn't do it because the duty lawyer does not do immigration law. Anyway, we finally got our second statutory declaration done last Thursday, so we are almot ready to send off the application.
We need to send it next week because we are going on a trip on Thursday and the FBI check will be 3 months old while we're away, so it's time for all those last-minute additions and checks to the application.
