I just checked my email and I got my passport request like 2 minutes ago!!!!!!!!

thanks guys! I'm having such a hard time believing it's almost over. Just this last week I was so upset over the whole process because I thought I still had so much time to wait and after viewing pictures of everyone's application on another thread and they were so big and mine was no where near that size and I had 10 years to document i felt very defeated.

I'll keep you all in the loop and I'm eager to see everyone else find there way through it. I think I'm going to head up to BC next weekend so we can all visit one more time before I send in my passport.

Anyone know how long it takes once you send it in?

Hi guys,
so i got a email from e-cas tracker saying

We can now see the details of your application on e-CAS... Latest update: "We started processing XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX application on September 16, 2010."

now, i wud like to know if everythiing goes to plan..how long before they ask us for the passport?

OMG!!!! I just logged on to Ecas and it says Decision Made!!!! It says they have received my medicals and that they have sent a letter with their decision!!!

I'm hoping this is good news...what do you think?

They started processing on 9/1......they couldn't have denied me that quickly, right?

Wow! They started me the day after, I can't even imagine - well no they can't do me yet. I have to get them the FBI Cert. I need to do that, today!

My application is as common-law, but as such it is not complicated (at least I thought so).

Ah! I just re-read the email from the New York office and it says:

"The Canadian Consulate General in New York will complete the analysis of your application and determine if a personal interview with a visa officer is required. Your file number remains the same."


It sounds like they only offer a visa IF you do an interview??

silverbee, I am not sure how you are reading that as if an interview is definately going to happen. It says they will decide if you're going to need one.
