I wish I'd see an update in ECAS for my medical or something. It'd be reassuring, lol.
I did check today - how I waited till today I'm not sure, to see if my FBI Certificate made it to Buffalo. It did, the 23rd.
Guess that doesn't really truly mean anything though, right?

I've read about people getting them there, but then Buffalo losing them. So until I hear from them again I'm not sure I can breath. Maybe something is in the mail today.

OMG how awful! I will be sooo thankful when this process is over. I never imagined how complicated everything could be. Naive, but it never occurred to me that moving here from the US would have been so difficult until I started reading in this forum!

Tried to check eCas today online but there was nothing listed.
Called CIC number and used automated service. It confirmed that my application was received on July 16, 2010.
It did not state when it started processing but I will be calling tomorrow to see if I can find out.
I will also be trying to find out our file number so I can go ahead and send my FBI clearance in.

I know that isn't that big of an update but just so glad I can finally share something.

Update: My application was in process since September 14 and I received my AOR on September 22 I hope Buffalo keeps moving quickly!!

Amazing that so many people are hearing back already! Congrats to all.

Hopefully it will keep going quickly for the rest of us too...

Question: I know it depends on the Visa Office whether they update ECAS or not but how long would you wait for an AOR before trying to get in touch with the office? I've been 'In Process' for 4 weeks now on ECAS and haven't recieved anything by mail. They had a mistake in our Canadian mailing address so just worried there will be a mistake with the SA one (what are the odds right??). Don't want to harrass the people reviewing the file, you know? But don't want to wait 4 months just to find out we didn't recieve the letter and have missed the deadline for submitting additional documents (and have all our police checks expire...) So... 6 weeks? 8 weeks? now?

Letter arrived today! No idea what it says as we've given them an SA mailing address so have to wait for it to be scanned and forwarded but exciting enough news for a post I thought. Must be the AOR... will confirm when I've actually read it. (hopefully no silverbee style disappointment in store).

Ours took 2 months and 6 days from the time it was received to start processing.
Just reminding everyone that ours is inland so that is why ours took longer.

I know it is just one little thing but I am on top of the world.

Congrats! That is exciting news...I think it means now that it's in process you can apply for an open work permit. That's a lot faster to get "in process" than was listed on the website, that's great
